AI isn't going to replace litigators, if anything it appears to be creating more legal work. That's where LegalMation comes in. David Rueff, Chief Client Solutions Group Officer at Baker Donelson discusses in this article on Law360 how his firm has used LegalMation to combat the growing number of AI generated claims. "You're seeing plaintiffs firms that can produce a significant volume of complaints and request for Discovery...LegalMation can save 30-50% in discovery costs." Thanks David for the shout-out, we're thrilled to work with you and your team. https://lnkd.in/dVBhgazM

Adjudicators Beware: The AI Litigation Arms Race An arms race is brewing in the world of litigation. On one side, plaintiff firms, empowered by tools like EvenUp, are filing lawsuits with an unprecedented speed and volume. On the other, defense firms are adopting AI systems such as LegalMation to mount equally efficient responses. At first glance, this might seem like equilibrium—AI versus AI, a balancing act. Wrong. Who’s left in the cold? Judges. Arbitrators. All adjudicators. These decision-makers are already overburdened. They now face the threat of being overwhelmed by a deluge of cases, a tidal wave of motions, and a tsunami of discovery disputes, all generated at lightning speed by AI-powered litigants. They’re like Luke, Leia, and Han squeezed in the trash compactor, with the walls closing in faster than they can find a way out. Unless… We act. Unless we innovate. Unless we build AI tools for judges. Tools to extract key evidence so they spend less time sifting through mountains of information. Tools to analyze relevant precedent so they can have insight at their fingertips. Tools to draft thorough and defensible decisions to maintain the integrity of justice in the face of increasing complexity. We must empower judges and adjudicators to rise to the challenge of this AI era. For without them, the balance of justice cannot hold. Without them, the rule of law itself will falter. The rule of law begins and ends with those who adjudicate—let’s give them the tools to protect it.
Continuing on this theme of Defense counsel combating Plaintiff counsel using AI, here is a great article on Law360 illustrating how Baker Donelson leverages LegalMation to combat the flood of filings driven by Plaintiff firm's use of AI to generate demand letters/lawsuits. Battle continues... stay tuned. https://lnkd.in/e79-UPQW

Member Frank Gerratana was quoted by Business Insider in an article about the legal landscape surrounding AI. He discusses the legal concerns that AI presents related to intellectual property rights, privacy and data protection, liability, and human rights issues. He says, "There's a variety of legal issues. Some of them have more clear answers, and some of them are a real gray area that I think will probably have to be addressed by the courts or by Congress. The hard part as an attorney is that any new technology often raises issues we haven't seen before, and so the answers that our clients want are not always going to be clear."
