Many companies in the EU and beyond are currently preparing to report under European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and #CSRD requirements. The first to report are the largest companies, but ultimately 50,000 companies, including non-EU companies, will be required to report specific information under these new standards. #ESRS Foundations explains the key concepts and helps understand how they might apply the standards. It navigates the complexity of ESRS, pulling the detailed requirements together in one place, and articulating them in plain English. It also includes insights and illustrative examples to help anticipate some of the key impacts. Whether a company is well advanced on its implementation journey, or taking the first steps, we hope this publication will help meet the challenges – and realise the opportunities enhanced reporting can bring. ttps://lnkd.in/gN5E86Bs

ESMA's Public Statement regarding the application of ESRS The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has issued a call to action for companies to prepare for the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements. This directive significantly broadens the scope of sustainability reporting, impacting over 50,000 companies. Here are the critical points: Data Collection & Control Systems: Companies are urged to establish robust data collection and control systems to meet the new reporting standards. These systems are essential for gathering accurate and comprehensive sustainability data. Materiality Assessments: Conducting thorough materiality assessments is crucial. These assessments help companies identify and prioritize the sustainability issues most relevant to their operations and stakeholders. Transparency and Connectivity: Ensuring transparency in reporting and establishing clear connections between financial and sustainability information is vital. This integration will provide a more holistic view of a company's performance and impact. Action Steps for Companies: Start building or enhancing data collection and control systems now. Conduct comprehensive materiality assessments to identify key sustainability issues. Ensure that sustainability and financial information are transparently connected in reports. Proactive preparation is essential to comply with these rigorous new standards and maintain a competitive edge. #enachepirtea #theextramile #businesslaw #ESG
