According to UNESCO, 44 million additional primary and secondary teachers are needed globally to meet Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 — the attainment of quality education for all by 2030. Teacher shortages affect both developed and developing countries. The new Global Report on Teachers calls for international cooperation and increased education investment to ensure every learner is taught by a qualified, motivated and well-supported teacher.
