At Parcel Forum this year a statement made by a presenter of one of the session I attended was that end consumers care more about reliability than actual speed of delivery. The 2 day or less expectation for delivery was lower on customers expectations list than paying slightly less with a reliable 3 day delivery. I’m curious as consumers would you rather pay slightly less and have 95%+ on time with a 3 day delivery or pay slightly more and have 85%+ on time 2 day delivery? How has current economic conditions impacted your position? How is the expansion of overseas product availability with slower delivery times but lower cost impacted your position? I’m genuinely curious what those in my network value most from retailers when you place your e-commerce orders in terms of shipping options and expectations.

Chris faced a shipping crisis just before the holidays. With determination, he and his team tackled the challenges head-on. First, they addressed shipping delays with proactive notifications and real-time updates. Then, they automated cost calculations to avoid financial surprises. To ensure timely deliveries, they revamped their scheduling system and implemented a double-check for shipping addresses. Offering flexible delivery options like BOPIS and curbside pickup improved customer satisfaction while reducing costs. Finally, they optimized packaging for a greener approach and a better unboxing experience. Thanks to their efforts, their online store sailed smoothly through the holiday rush, earning rave reviews and solidifying their place as e-commerce stars. ✨ 🚀 Full article below on "Top 7 Ecommerce Shipping Mistakes to Avoid". ⬇️ #retail #shipping #ecommerce #returns #reverselogistics #retailtrends #ecommercetips #ecommercestrategies #retailing

Sitting around the table at a discussion yesterday with relatives I was asked the question “why am I an online shopper?” This comes down to having time, planning a budget, health reasons, avoiding crowds and being in a line up. A) convenience of delivery at home B) deals are available online C) get points and coupons D) the time spent outside to get the groceries you tend to over shop and buy things you don’t need E) keeping the budget and following it F) I can buy anything across the globe and have it delivered to my door step weather is snowing, raining, G) amount spent on gas will the same as the delivery fee These days shipping online has become the new trend!
