Happy Friday! I'd like to introduce everyone to a new member of the team. Shawn Kirkpatrick will be joining us heading up candidate and client relations within #Wind and #Hydrogen development. Joining our team with years of experience in the US Navy and a career in golf, we are so excited to see where Shawn brings Cranberry in the future. Thanks Shawn, we are so lucky to have YOU! If you're a #Developer looking to grow or change up your team, please reach out to Shawn or myself! Get to Know Shawn: "I have spent my adult life in the service of others. As a Navy Veteran I served on many platforms and was a leader as much as a follower. In my latter years I was in charge of my subordinates career advancement, making sure they were on a path of success. After my 20 year military retirement I pursued my passion and coached golf for 10 years. My clients were all ages and walks of life. Here is where I learned a very important skill of patience and compassion. I considered myself not only a golf coach but also as a mentor to my students. I am honored to be part of the Cranberry recruitment team and I am looking forward to the journey ahead." 1. Where are you from? I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. 2. Favorite vacation spot? Bali is my favorite vacation spot the sunset alone keeps me going back. 3. If you could go back in time, where would you go? Egypt, I would really like know how they built the pyramids and underground tombs etc. 4. What's made you excited about working in renewables? Renewables have always interested me. We are destroying our environment one gas tank at a time and I just think there has to be a better way for the generations ahead of us. 5. What do you like about working in recruitment? I just enjoy talking with people and if I can help them in anyway, that’s great too. 6. Favorite snack? Pepperoni pizza without a doubt. 7. What are you most excited about regarding joining the team at Cranberry? I am excited to develop my interpersonal skills.

One question I often get from folks interviewing at Southwest is "is the culture really what I hear it is?". Before coming to Southwest 7 years ago, I worked for several wonderful companies and loved them all for different reasons. But Southwest IS different, and I'd love to share why I believe our culture is the real deal. I like to tell folks that it's the most family-like experience I've seen, complete with "crazy uncles", celebrations, conflict, and reunions. In my view, a defining feature of "family" is a commitment to one another that somehow eclipses personal interest; in fact, we see family AS our personal interest. Maybe we can understand that with our family and friends, but it appears to be increasingly rare in organized enterprise. But at Southwest, my Cohearts have my back, and I have theirs. We're striving for the same things even when we disagree about how to get there. We mess up, and it's ok. We get sideways with one another, and then we come back together. And when someone threatens our family, we fight. 7 years ago I was that guy who showed up at the doorstep thinking I knew better, but I was wrong. I had some good ideas, sure, and we've folded many of those in along with others' great ideas from the "outside". But the magic is in the family dynamic that breathes life into ideas. If you want to make a killing on LUV stock, invest in our People, support our plan, bring more ideas, and let the magic do the work as it's done every time we've been threatened. And if you want to be part of the magic, call me or one of my Cohearts. We're going to need more help before all this is said and done. Finally, thanks to our Customers out there. We do what we do around here so that you can connect to who and what matters most in your lives. We're not perfect, but our intentions are honest and our fight is for you too. #OurSouthwest

What I learned at the Corinth Canal... (It actually has to do with my company 😆) Ever heard of the Corinth Canal? Here's a snapshot of me standing right in front of it! 🌊 This marvel was initiated over two millennia ago, left unfinished, then revived centuries later. On the map, it doesn’t seem like it saves much travel time around the Peloponnesian Peninsula, but those waters are treacherous. ⚓️ What the canal offers is predictability. Sure, it demands effort and resources, but it guarantees a safe passage, avoiding the perilous journey where countless ships never made it. This resonates with how we should approach building a successful team. Yes, you can try to recruit talent on your own, but just like navigating the dangerous waters, it’s risky, time-consuming, and ultimately, more costly. By partnering with a professional organization, you’re taking the direct, reliable route. We've done the heavy lifting to ensure a seamless journey to your dream team. It’s about choosing certainty over uncertainty. So, why sail against the storm when you can glide through calm waters? Have you ever faced a situation where taking the 'direct route' made all the difference? Let’s chat in the comments! 📩

Waves of Difference: From Golden Gates 🌉 to Liberty's Light 🗽 As I've oscillated between the East and West coasts these past months, I've been gifted an unexpected perspective on the U.S. - a country of stark contrasts and subtle nuances. From the frenetic rhythm of Manhattan's concrete canyons to the laid-back innovation hubs of Silicon Valley, I've been a sponge, absorbing the essence of these two worlds. What was once a vague concept has crystallized into a fascinating study of contrasts. The differences go far beyond the clichéd weather comparisons or landscape variations. They seep into the very fabric of daily life - from sartorial choices to career philosophies, from brand loyalties to risk perceptions. Over the next 10 posts, I'll be diving deep into the idiosyncrasies that define these two prominent divisions of the American dream exploring how seemingly universal terms take on entirely different meanings depending on which coast you're standing. This isn't just about East vs. West. It's about understanding the complex tapestry of ideologies that shape our formative years. It's about learning to adapt while defining our personal stances in a world of flux. I promise you this - we'll go beyond the superficial. We'll delve into thought-provoking territories that challenge our preconceptions and broaden our horizons. So, whether you're a die-hard New Yorker, a Silicon Valley enthusiast, or somewhere in between, I invite you on this journey of discovery. Welcome aboard this bi-coastal adventure!

In the embrace of spring beneath the cherry blossoms in Brighton, a day planned for diving deep into customer insights took an unexpected turn. An interviewee's last-minute cancellation might have been a setback, but it opened a doorway to serendipity. 🌸 With a major project on the horizon— a challenge designed to mind-shift the approach of senior account development executives—it would have been easy to remain tethered to my desk, refining and polishing. Yet, the sun's inviting rays and the allure of spring whispered a different suggestion. Isn't it remarkable how a sudden change of plans can lead to moments of clarity and inspiration? Stepping outside, allowing the vibrant hues of nature to envelop me, I reflected not on missed opportunities but on the potential in the unexpected. How you mentally frame a situation changes your approach to the world; even though the "facts" don't change, your world and future do. 🌱 As I document novel ways to approach changing the direction of travel for major-account sales, perhaps I should pause more to consider the impact of our environment on our creativity. ⏰ When was the last time you allowed the beauty of the world outside to influence your professional creativity? 😀 Could a moment away from the conventional workspace be the key to unlocking a fresh perspective in your work? Let spring inspire us to embrace the unpredictability of our days. It's a reminder that sometimes, the best-laid plans give way to experiences that enrich our work and souls.
