WHAT IS A PHYSICAL SECURITY CONSULTANT? There are many individuals with the title security consultant and there are many companies who have been less than thrilled with the results after engaging a security consultant. What then are the attributes that a company should be evaluating when carrying out “due diligence” in the selection of an individual or firm for an assignment? First and foremost, they should be independent and not connected to a security manufacturer or security integrator/contractor. Consultants who are employed by manufacturers or integrator/contractors have an obvious conflict of interest in that their employer will expect their security equipment and systems to be recommended for a project. The physical security consultant should then have clear experience and expertise in a variety of security fields which might include the following: · Video Surveillance · Access Control · Perimeter Control · Intrusion Alarm · Visitor Management · VMS (Video Management Systems) · Security Assessment · Security Legislation · Security Protocols · Security Master Plans · Security Integration · Ongoing Security Technology · Counter Terrorism · Computer Networking · Security Sustainability · AI · Cloud Memory · Door Hardware · Intercom Systems · Writing Skills · Communication Skills · Other As Required For greater detail on what constitutes a Physical Security Consultant, visit here bit.ly/4aAwCbM. #securityconsultants #facilitymanagement #architects #education #sva #securitydesign #securityengineering #seniorliving #multifamilyhousing
