Thank you all for supporting us and helping us to raise awareness at the Chattanooga Walk for Epilepsy this past weekend! We had over 100 people out to Share their Purple Power as we walked along the beautiful Tennessee River at Renaissance Park. Thank you to our sponsors, NeuroPace, Neurelis, Inc., UCB, for their financial support and for our local Northshore businesses, (Be)Caffeinated and Milk & Honey, for their in-kind efforts. Check out our website for a slideshow of the day: www.epilepsy-setn.org/walk #NEAM2024 #shareyourpurplepower #WalkForEpilepsy

At BridgeBio one of our most important cultural rituals are Patient Days. Hearing directly from patients living with the conditions we are targeting energizes and humbles us all. As someone new to drug development I was very surprised to learn this isn't done by every company. I can't wait for that to change - please let me know if you are interested in doing this for your drug development program so we can share our approach! #patientsfirst
Putting patients first is a value that BridgeBio practices daily. Part of that is hearing from the people impacted by the conditions we seek to serve. We were fortunate to host and hear from a group of young people living with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD), an inherited condition that causes progressive muscle deterioration. It was an incredible opportunity to gain insight from their perspective of how living with LGMD affects their lives. Through these learnings, we can better understand the unmet needs of people with this condition. We are truly grateful for their time and willingness to share their personal stories!

🙄 It's sad that I feel the need to go out of my way to congratulate an organization for truly putting patients first. However, the reality is that many so-called "𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝" organizations fail to include #patients in the conversation. Great work, BridgeBio, for incorporating perspectives and feedback that genuinely matters! That's a wonderful initiative.👍. Even in Japan, AbbVie ‘s head office building turned on blue light during April, ( https://lnkd.in/gm-qzVKN ) but about other activities they only said "we didn't know" when I talked to them. And they also said that they would been banned to be direct to patients. Is it difficult in Japan? If they start doing it all over the world, I feel sorry leaving the sponsor only to abbvie. I hope we patients can also become effective stakeholders, but there is no system called fundraising, and it is not socially acceptable in Japan. ーーーーーーーーーーー About AbbVie in Parkinson’s At AbbVie, we are aiming to transform Parkinson's disease care and improve outcomes for those living with this progressive condition. We support individuals living with Parkinson's, addressing the physical, mental, and emotional impacts on their lives. With over 30 years of neuroscience experience, we collaborate to deliver products, education, and resources that preserve one's personhood. Looking for rebound nystagmus? 👁️ Rebound nystagmus is a type of primary position nystagmus that occurs after prolonged eccentric gaze holding. The examiner looks for a nystagmus that beats away from the previous direction of gaze holding, lasting for at least 5 beats. Clinicians can see an example of rebound nystagmus on this youtube, generously made available by the Moran Clinical Ophthalmology Resources for Education (CORE) collection (Note: this video is intended for education and training in the discipline of Clinical Ophthalmology). Using IR video goggles like Vesticam2, can make it easier to see nystagmus. https://lnkd.in/epcpkM5x #Nystagmus #vesticam #vestibular #neurology

We now have an eighth FDA approved therapy for DMD! Find the press release from the FDA, information about other FDA approved therapies, and many other helpful resources for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, by visiting www.DMDResources.org! P.S. This is an amature, neutral website I personally created just to keep track of important resources for DMD! If there are other helpful resources you think would be valuable to our community, please use the form on the website to have them added! Nothing listed is an endorsement in any way. It's just a collection of links to resources, including: treatments, clinical trials, nonprofit organizations, events, and more!
