Earlier today in Enugu, as part of events marking the completion of the transition period for transfer of regulatory oversight from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission (EERC), the Chairman/CEO, EERC, Mr. Chijioke Okonkwo presented the interim distribution license to Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited. Mainpower, a subsidiary of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC), is now responsible for distributing electricity within Enugu State. With this development, EEDC operations in Enugu State have come to an end, while NERC will no longer regulate electricity business within the state of Enugu. A member of the Board of Directors of Mainpower, Mr. Kester Enwereonu, while receiving the license said that the successful transition was a new chapter that reflects the forward-thinking reforms in the power sector and that Mainpower is ready to lead the way. He further assured that to accelerate the transformation, Mainpower will deploy re-engineered processes, cutting-edge technology, and smart tools designed to leapfrog past conventional barriers, stressing that technology is at the heart of the company’s strategy. Also present at the event is the Managing Director of Mainpower, Dr. Ernest Mupwaya.

Please we need meter in Enugu. Wether NERC OR EERC let them provide meter for customers.
Hmm ..... "Nerc will no longer regulate electricity distribution in Enugu State" Who will the customers run to in cases of irregularities like excessive billing, wrong disconnection, etc?
a new dimension with a lot of expectations. welcome on board Mainpower.
May God be the strength of Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited, she will not fail God or man in Jesus name. Amen
Mainpower is still EEDC in another name or cloth. Nothing has really changed except the names.
EEDC what is happening?
Hopefully this is a good one. Welcome onboard Mainpower
Is there any benefit to workers on this regard
Congratulations and best wishes Mr Kester.

2moGood news. EEDC shedding off to pave way for others. Will they allow to collabo with generating company and be offtakers of produced power. Main power are you also ready to deploy other energy mix to distribute to consumer?
