Business Video: The New Investment Community Visibility
In 1992, small and micro cap securities had trading volumes, which often grew quarter on quarter after their public debut. They grew their institutional sponsorship and were able to uplist their security to a larger exchange without
difficulty. Their market capitalizations expanded with fundamental
progress.
They spent money on investment community visibility. Traveled to conduct road shows (deal and non-deal), physically met with investors, some of the CEO's would even "camp out" at broker dealers' offices during non-reporting periods and get to know the traders and brokers. They made for certain that they were contacting S&P, Factset Data Systems (we sold Revere Data to them in 2013), Bloomberg, Reuters, Thomson and other data/tracking/analytics, feed services and trading platforms, so that their company and security were always included and therefore easily discoverable. This made them visible to the investors of the world. They attended and presented at every conference available, for years.
In today's largely virtual world, very little of the above is done. As a result, most have low trading volumes, do not gain sponsorship in a reasonable period of time (if ever), their market capitalizations do not grow much (if at all) with fundamental progress. Why? Because nobody knows about them. Worse even, most of these companies that trade on NASDAQ or OTC markets, do not even take the time to complete their corporate profiles on the very markets’ websites where they trade. These sites receive 5+ million visitors per month! Incredulous.
In today's video-centric world, most of these emerging growth companies, who desperately need visibility and distribution to build markets in their security and to Sell Their Products, don't utilize their business video. Video is worth one million words (Forrester Research). It is the most powerful electronic communication medium. The only thing more valuable than video is business video. Because it makes you money! In 2023, a venture backed private company named #Rewind raised $64 million at $350 million valuation, from a 7 minute intro. video posted to Twitter (now #X). That's the power of Business Video.
