Few pieces of advice: 1. Be friends with your client 2. Don't think of your freelance project as one time job. 3. Impress them with your skills and communication. 4. Get them to some other communication medium wherever they are comfortable and where you are notified and available 24/7. The Outcomes: - They will consult you for the job before posting it on the freelance platform. - They will hire you often or refer you to other colleagues. - High likely they might end up hiring you as their remote employee/partner/provider etc (whether it is for 1hr/day or 40h/week) - If the client is from a company (receuiter, CEO, employee) if they became impress from your skills or your work, they might offer you a full time position. My Experience: - Most of my clients email me, WhatsApp me or send me a skype whenever they have something come up (a project, an update or an idea to discuss) - They will offer you to be paid on a medium where both are compatible. - 2 of my clients hired me and pay me biweekly (1 did for year and the contract ended successfully after completion) - 1 of my client was offering me a full time job for an year, finally accepted and now happily working there with them. 😇

🚨 I thought every freelancer knows this, but after a sour hiring experience, I'd like to share the basic requirements for working remotely with clients. 1. 𝐀 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - Having network issues all the time will lead to a bad client experience. 2. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 - You'll need time to understand a task or requirement, and that's completely fine. But be honest about your experience so your client can make an informed decision. 3. 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐭𝐡 - Take up clients only if you have time to devote to their work. This isn't limited to working hours. As a freelancer, you must make time for meetings, edits, and follow-ups. It's a part of the job. 4. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞— Finalize a price and stick with it. Changing your prices midway will always be annoying for the client. Sociocom is looking to contract a specialist to assist with developing and updating Wikipedia profiles for several prominent African scientists. While we have successfully edited/created new pages in the past, we now face challenges with editing existing ones. Specifically, we encountered difficulties when adding content resulting in subsequent deletion, creating info boxes and working on the tables. Our goal is to enhance these pages by including accurate information and relevant sources according to the strict Wikipedia guidelines. Scope: 1. Content Input: We will handle most of the editing, but we seek your expertise to input the content on the pages, ensuring accuracy. 2. Infoboxes and Images: We need your assistance to input infobox details and images for each scientist’s page. 3. Tables: For some fellows we plan to include tables, which would have the lists of publications and books authored by these scientists. This would be done on a per-project basis. Fully remote.
