This month celebrates National Make a Difference to Children, a time to recognize the impact we can have on children's lives. Our involvement today can shape their futures, providing them with the support and encouragement they need to thrive. Whether through mentoring, volunteering, or simply being a positive role model, every action can make a significant difference. Being involved in a child's life impacts their future by fostering self-esteem, providing guidance, and offering a sense of stability. When children know they have someone who believes in them, they are more likely to pursue their goals and overcome challenges. Our presence can inspire resilience, confidence, and a positive outlook, helping them navigate the complexities of growing up. To observe National Make a Difference to Children Month, consider volunteering your time at local schools, youth programs, or community centers. Donate to organizations that support children's education and well-being, or become a mentor. Spread awareness by sharing stories of positive impact and encouraging others to get involved. Together, we can create a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. #educate #empower #prevent #childprotection #PTWF Paving the Way: https://lght.ly/7bcdbg2 Parent Tool Kit: https://lght.ly/mkagjj

"One Candle Lights Another: Be the Change" In a bustling community on the outskirts of Uyo, a young girl named Eno wakes up every morning with a dream—to become a teacher and help other children like her gain the education they deserve. But her journey hasn’t been easy. Eno’s school was once a rundown building with limited resources. She often studied in dim light, using borrowed books. Yet, she persevered, fueled by hope and the support of those who believed in her potential. At Daraafrik Foundation, we believe that every child deserves a chance to shine, regardless of their circumstances. Through our Education for Underserved Girls Program, we provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities needed to turn dreams into reality. But here’s the truth: Eno’s story isn’t just ours—it’s yours. Every time you contribute—whether by donating, volunteering, or spreading awareness—you’re lighting another candle, sparking hope where it’s needed most. 📚 How You Can Help: 1️⃣ Volunteer your time or skills to mentor or teach. 2️⃣ Donate school supplies or sponsor a student’s education. 3️⃣ Share our work and encourage others to get involved. Let’s work together to ensure no child’s light is dimmed by circumstances beyond their control. Because when we light one candle, we can light the world. 💡 Join us today at; Facebook; https://ow.ly/jRz550UgsAO Linkedin; https://ow.ly/OOzN50UgsAP Instagram; https://ow.ly/5gj250UgsAR #EducationForAll #GirlsEducation #EmpowerTheFuture #CommunityImpact #SocialGood #DaraafrikFoundation #SupportEducation #UnderservedGirls #ChangeMakers

Good Monday Morning! We are kicking off our ALL IN FOR KIDS: A Week of Giving campaign today, and invite you to follow along with us on social media throughout this week. We will be sharing more about our programs and how CIS is supporting students to thrive and achieve their goals. ☑️🎓 One of the challenges in our schools today is the significant rise in chronic absenteeism in the wake of the pandemic. Last year nearly 15 million students across the U.S. were chronically absent (missing 18+ days of school). The numbers are similar in Charlotte, with more than 1 in 4 students identified as chronically absent. Chronically absent students cannot succeed if they are not in school. The real reasons kids are absent are numerous and often complex and misunderstood. CIS works hand-in-hand with parents, families, and teachers to help connect students to resources they need to address their attendance challenges and other obstacles keeping them from success. When CIS is present in schools, 99% of our students stay in school. 👉Learn more at cischarlotte.org/aifk-2024, and thank you for joining us to be All In For Kids! #communitiesinschools #cis #cischarlotte #AllinforKids #beingpresentmatters #weekofgiving #donate #nonprofit

This quotation from Maya Angelou was the catalyst for this long post. “Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it.” Any Step Community Services was a passion project for me. Since our genesis, our impact has grown steadily. In our first year as a 501(c)(3), we donated over 3800 lbs. of nonpersishable food to over 700 older adults households. I am convinced that our success was due to divine favor. But, imposter syndrome took root quickly when I realized I didn't know what I didn't know about the nonprofit sector. #olderadults #impact Because I am a huge proponent of mentoring and coaching, I took the posture of a learner. I sought out subject matter experts. With guidance from nonprofit powerhouses Dr. Froswa' Booker and Kimberly O'Neil, we focused on our infrastructure and implemented sound business practices. Thank you. #gratitude #community #mentorship #businesscoaching I still believe that this mission to feed older adults is divinely led. I have learned so much about how to lead a nonprofit organization. I am still learning and we are still growing. I learned because I leaned into the experts to humbly admit that I didn't know about "_____" (fill in the blank) #lifelongstudent We continue to focus on the historically underserved, and underrepresented older adults households in the Greater Dallas- Fort Worth area and can proudly report that we donated over 19, 000 lbs, of food to over 2900 older adults households at the end of 2023. #communityimpact

✨Thrive Non-Profit Spotlight✨ Last week you got to learn a little more about the events and ways that Ground Zero connects with our area's youth. It's not uncommon though for people to not support such organizations because they do not have children who could benefit directly. At Ground Zero (www.mygroundzero.com), it’s not just about the kids attending their events — it’s about the entire community coming together to build stronger, more supportive environments for everyone. 🤝💙 Ground Zero provides a safe, fun space for youth to engage in positive activities, grow through mentorship, and develop leadership skills. But even if you don’t have children attending their programs, the impact is felt throughout our entire community: ✔️ Stronger Families: By offering resources for youth and families, Ground Zero helps create healthier, more connected households. ✔️ Reduced Strain on Local Resources: With safe spaces for teens, fewer young people fall through the cracks, helping to reduce the strain on schools, police, and other community services. ✔️ A Vibrant, Resilient Community: Supporting organizations like Ground Zero ensures that our neighborhoods continue to thrive, with engaged, empowered individuals who care about the collective well-being. We may not always see it directly, but these organizations make a huge difference in creating a brighter future for all of us. 🌱 Let’s continue to support and uplift their mission, even if we’re not personally involved. 💪 For more information, visit www.mygroundzero.com! #SupportOurCommunity #GroundZero #MakingADifference #InvestInYouth #CommunityStrong
