We believe in showing gratitude and appreciation to our amazing interims. Every month, we select a special gift to celebrate them! Our July Gift was a set of Bombas socks! These are the most comfortable socks and they come with a mission close to our hearts: for every pair purchased, one is donated to someone in need. We are thrilled to support their vision while also giving our interims something they can appreciate and enjoy. #nurseappreciation #interimappreciation #employeeappreciation #bombas #meaningfulwork #meaningfulconnections #interimrecruitment #healthcarerecruitment #healthcarerecruiters #interimleadership #executivesearch #healthcareleadership #nurseleaders #nurseleadership #hireupleadership #hireupcommunity #alwayshireup

Congratulations Dr. Stacie Waites on having her article titled "Teach a Man to Fish: The Use of Autonomous Aid in Eliciting Donations" published! Article Summary: Conventional wisdom says that if you give a person a fish you can feed them for a day, but if you teach them to fish you can feed them for a lifetime. However, most nonprofits tend to describe their work in a more immediate way (giving a fish) instead of how they can help aid recipients work toward autonomy (teaching them to fish). This research explores an alternative positioning strategy focused on the use of autonomous aid appeals, which promote the use of donated funds to facilitate the eventual self-sufficiency of those in need. Working with a regional non-profit we show that this singular change to the non-profit’s messaging increased donations by over 400%. This effect is further investigated in 6 studies, all suggesting the profound effect of autonomous aid messaging over immediate aid messaging in various donation contexts. How generous are people in your area? How many donated last year? How generous are people in your area compared to local incomes? Now in its 20th year, UK Giving has for the first time taken more than 13,000 responses collected from the public during 2023 and used a statistical model to project its results to all 650 UK parliamentary constituencies, revealing the country’s donor hubs for the first time. Our interactive map lets you explore these results, showing you how many people in your area donated in 2023, how much your local area donated as a whole, and how generous people in your area are – compared to local incomes. https://lnkd.in/eWZfeUfy

Continuing the countdown, here are the next 5 opportunities to Be Kind Be Grateful. #44 – If new neighbours moved in, host a ‘get to know the street party’ by inviting old neighbours to meet the new ones. Great friends start with an introduction. #43 – Send a letter to someone that has always inspired you or better yet, nominate them for awards given out by community or government organizations. #42 – When visiting a graveyard, take an extra bouquet of flowers and place them on a veteran’s grave thanking them for serving and making your life more peaceful. #41 – Next time you are on a vacation, donate some time or money to a local not-for-profit organization giving back to the community you are visiting in a positive way. #40 – When you encounter a tourist, give them a pin or something from your community. It will be highlight of their trip. When travelling, take a pin to give to those special people that make your trip meaningful. Please share and add to the growing list.

There is more to consider than your final arrangements when thinking about your death. Who gets your comic book collection? Where do you want your clothes donated? There are so many small things to sort out that take away from your loved ones time to grieve. The kindest thing to do is to take time to consider these things and pick a hand full of people you trust to execute these plans for you. Give them one last chance to show their love for you.

Ever wonder what the items donated to #ShareOurSpare mean to the families and kids who receive them? We hear frequently from partners that for their clients, receiving items feels like they’re not in it alone! They feel apart of a community that cares about them and their kids, even without knowing them personally. The impact of feeling cared about, seen, supported and important is hard to describe in words, but if you’ve felt it, you know how powerful it is!
