We recently sat down with Andrew Ferris, the Program Director for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals with the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. As a large non-profit running in Canada and the US, Children’s Miracle Network supports over 70 member hospitals and partners with large organizations to raise money to benefit hospitals and the children treated at them. After taking a live event hiatus following the COVID-19 pandemic, Children’s Miracle Network began meeting in-person this year. In the Spotlight, Andrew shares the role live events play in supporting the network and how the funds raised allow them to drive their mission and have a bigger impact. If this is what we meant by "angry star child," Changes wouldn't need to exist or fundraise.  And while we detest fundraising and passing the plate, it's a necessity so that we don't disappear like so many other non-profits.   We don't charge for the peer support we offer; we rely wholly on donations.    Our end-of-year fundraising campaign kicks off now and will crescendo on Dec 3, which is Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday following Thanksgiving).    We know there are a lot of worthy organizations that ask for your support this time of year. A donation to Changes is an investment in families and a means of helping acting-out teen and adult children (aka "star children") become responsible adults that contribute to society rather than become a burden. If you're a professional working in an area aligned with our mission, we just might be able to reduce the number of frantic parents calling you to demand why you haven't "fixed" their child.   In December we'll enter our 29th year of existence, and the number of parents and caregivers that need our support is greater than ever. Please help us continue our mission by donating today via this secure link: https://lnkd.in/grXYvnRD
