Some researchers divide about 200 participants into two group. One group is said that they are about to get started with some service - let’s say therapy session - and they can pay either $11 now or $10 - for the same service, after 3 months. As you can probably guess, majority - 64% tell that they will pay $10 after 3 months. So far so good. Now the other half of participants is told that for them, the service is ending - only 1 session is left and they have to make one last payment. Again, either they can either pay 11$ right away or 10$ after 3 months. But... For this group, 51% sat they would like to pay 11$ right away. They would rather pay more now. What explains this? I explain in the video below.

Have you ever felt the need to block out noise or light because your surroundings were so overwhelming? 🤔 It's important to recognise that sensory processing challenges are more common than many of us realise. While neurodivergent individuals are more likely to experience sensory processing difficulties, neurotypical people can also experience sensory overload due to stress and anxiety. Sensory rooms provide a carefully designed multi-sensory environment that positively engages your senses and helps your brain better organise and regulate sensory input. As a result, you feel emotionally nourished and refreshed. 💜 👉 If you’re interested in installing a sensory room in your healthcare clinic, contact us to learn more: https://loom.ly/7Wd1oFU Source: https://loom.ly/y1g6GpY #CreativeSensorySpaces #SensoryRooms #SensoryProcessing

On this platform, I've seen the concept of 'radical acceptance' weaponized many times to virtue signal clinicians to do a better job "fitting in" to healthcare environments. I have three statements for you on that: 1) There is no singular "correct" way to be a therapist or counselor, including how we advocate for change. 2) If you've experienced harm within this system, you get to decide how to transform and alchemize those experiences. Period. 3) We can practice radical acceptance of any situation and still choose radical dissent if it serves our alchemy. #ClinicianMentalHealth

Did you hear about the Gemma Collins ad ban? GEMMA COLLINS AD BANNED FOR CLAIMING ELECTRICAL DEVICE CAN ‘TREAT DEPRESSION’: 🚫 Gemma Collins promoted a Flow Neuroscience AB device on Instagram. 🚫 Claimed the £400 headset “works faster and better than antidepressants.” 🚫 Ad banned by ASA for discouraging essential medical treatment. → Claims: "Like having your own therapist at home." → Regulation: Sent mild electrical impulses to the brain to regulate mood. RESPONSE TO THE RULING: ✅ Collins said the device needed GP consultation. ✅ ASA insisted this wasn’t enough for ongoing depression treatment. ✅ Ad trivialised stopping medication without medical supervision. ✅ ASA's verdict: Ensure future ads don’t discourage essential treatments. Always seek proper medical advice for health issues. Did you see the post? What are your thoughts on healthcare ads? #MarketingEthics #Healthcare #MentalHealth #AdvertisingStandards #ASARuling

3 science based strategies to improve the patient experience! 1) Express empathy when interacting with patients. This involves mirroring a patient's facial gestures and body language to demonstrate to a patient that you're experiencing the same thing as them. Explore a patient's emotions by asking follow up questions and offer them support. Finish all your interactions with patients by letting them know that you are available to them if they need any support. 2) The Similar to Me Effect is a cognitive bias that describes an irrational tendency to feel more secure around others who are like us. When interacting with patients, find commonality in order to create connection. Speak about common experiences like being a parent, vacations, pets, and sports. 3) Express confidence and humility when interacting with patients. When prescribing a plan of care discuss your rationale to patients and demonstrate your expertise with a sense of authority. Also, be humble by being open minded to patient suggestions and don't be to rigid if a patient can't conform exactly to your prescription. If you are interested in teaching clinicians the science and practical tips to enhance the patient experience, check out Communicatient. We have an amazing program where we send clinicians 2 minute videos weekly, highlighting a patient experience strategy to focus on for the week.
