Five years ago, my professional life was vastly different from what it is today. Back then, I was at the helm of one of the largest operating room departments in my state, immersed in the day-to-day challenges and triumphs of surgical care. It was a role that taught me the intricacies of healthcare delivery, patient care, and team management under high-pressure conditions. Each day brought new lessons in resilience and leadership.
Fast forward to today, and my career has taken a transformative leap into the realms of healthcare strategy and improvement discussions with top-ranked healthcare organizations. This shift was driven by my passion for enhancing healthcare delivery and making a broader impact on the industry.
Transitioning from managing bustling operating suites to strategizing with healthcare leaders wasn't simple. It required building on the deep knowledge and operational expertise I gained at the ground level and expanding it to understand the larger healthcare ecosystem. My focus shifted from the unique needs of surgical operations to the systemic challenges and opportunities in healthcare at a macro level.
Today, I find myself in rooms with thought leaders and innovators, discussing how we can collectively improve coordination across various departments and facilities to ensure a cohesive and efficient care delivery system. We explore methods to empower patients to take an active role in their care, fostering engagement and ownership of their health outcomes. Moreover, we strategize on creating robust support systems and organizational goals that address the unique needs of diverse populations, including specialized areas like maternal healthcare.
The journey from direct patient care to healthcare strategy has been exhilarating and deeply fulfilling. It underscores a key message that career growth often requires us to step out of our comfort zones and embrace broader perspectives. As I continue to engage with leaders and change-makers in the healthcare industry, I am reminded of the importance of our collective efforts in shaping a future where healthcare is more integrated, patient-focused, and inclusive.
Thank you, Denise Mihal, Drs. Pamela Oliver, & David Priest,MD,MPH,FIDSA for sharing your journey with others so we can make a larger impact in healthcare!

🌟 Feeling Inspired After a Transformative Healthcare Conference🌟
This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a leading healthcare conference, where professionals from around the nation gathered to discuss the future of healthcare, innovation, and leadership.
Among the many enlightening sessions, one particularly stood out to me: a speech on 8 pillars Transformational Leadership in Healthcare by the CEO of UMSC Norzaiton Senusi. Coming from a different industry background, her journey to healthcare leadership is nothing short of inspirational.
What amazed me the most was how she seamlessly integrated lessons from her past experiences to address current healthcare challenges, emphasizing the importance of empathy, innovation, and patient-centric approaches.
It's a testament to how visionary leadership can truly make a difference in any field, especially one as critical as healthcare.
Norzaiton Senusi journey is a powerful reminder that with vision, determination, and a willingness to adapt, it's possible to drive significant positive change, even in industries where you're considered an outsider.
Thank you Norzaiton Senusi for you powerpack speech. 🎤
