🎉 Happy New Year from Connecting Steps! 🎉 As we welcome 2025, we reflect on what has ended, what has started, and what continues for us here at Connecting Steps. Over the past month, we deepened our understanding of how we connect with people and the ways that matter most. This clarity, through the diagnosis of our own lives, has shaped our passion and mission, paving the way for exciting new journeys ahead. With the new year, we’ve discovered a renewed purpose: intentionally connecting with others who are navigating life with autoimmune diseases. This has inspired us to organise events focused on sharing knowledge, providing support, and promoting food-friendly lifestyles tailored to those with autoimmune needs as part of our journey. What remains constant for us is our dedication to meaningful connections. Food and community have always been the joy of what we do, and we’re excited to continue building relationships with like-minded individuals. In 2025, we are embarking on a more focused journey—pursuing specific goals, lifestyles, and priorities with small, intentional groups at a time. Signing off for the next two weeks to focus on what matters most. 2024 has been a year of beautiful chaos - juggling growing children and a growing company, building furniture and building systems, crafting strategies and crafting memories. As I reflect, I'm filled with gratitude for: • Health departments who trusted us with their strategic planning journeys • Partners who collaborated with us to implement AI thoughtfully and ethically • City teams who were willing to reimagine their approach to risk • Organizations who joined us in modernizing licensing and inspection systems • Our incredible F&T Labs team who pour their hearts into transforming public health But mostly, I'm thankful for these two little ones in my arms who remind me daily why we do this work - because building better public health systems means building a better future for all our children. The birth of our second was traumatic, and I don't hold it lightly that he is with me today, and I'm able to hold him in my arms. 2024 taught me that balance isn't about perfect equilibrium - it's about being present in the moments that matter most.
