"The future of higher education internationalization is in the wider engagement of faculty throughout institutions in their teaching, research and service." This article is worth the read. While it discusses the importance of administration and policy, it acknowledges nothing will happen without the involvement of faculty. Providing a global experience for our students can be challenging when only 3% of our students are able to travel abroad. “Part of a campus-wide dialogue on internationalization is to educate faculty on what it means and what options for involvement exist in curricula, research and community problem-solving.” International virtual exchange leverages digital platforms to connect students from different cultures and backgrounds, allowing them to engage in collaborative projects, cross-cultural discussions, and shared learning experiences without having to travel beyond their classroom. “[T]he future of higher education internationalization will depend on a robust and expanded participation of faculty throughout the institution.” Are you interested in learning more about virtual exchange or incorporating a virtual exchange in your class?
