Recently spoke with a client hiring an Enterprise AE. Aspiring (and current) salespeople should read this... Their belif on "sales tenures" mimics what MOST of our clients look for. For candidates with 10+ years experience, they expect at least two stints of 3+ years. No career is perfect (and they -- like most) understand that the last few years have been challenging to say the least. As long as you have a few "good" tenures on your resume where you drove strong results, short stints/bad moves can be easily absolved. But...if you've worked at 6 or 8 companies over a 10 year span...you will likely not be considered a viable candidates at the top-tier companies out there. Stay long on your career by making strategic moves that get you one step closer to your end goals.

We've been on an Account Executive hiring spree lately. And honestly, it's about time. I was doing founder-led sales for too long, and there was too much pipeline we couldn't service well. Having 4 AEs who have time + mental bandwidth to sell (and know how to do it better than me) has been a huge unlock. So, I thought I'd highlight what I look for when hiring Account Executives: 1) A tactical understanding of how to run a sales process end-to-end (e.g., someone who isn't afraid to run their own demos). 2) Ability to do great discovery and to deeply understand customer use cases and pain points. 4) A really nice to have: past experience selling to our target personas.
