The 2 & 3 wheeler EV marketplace is seeing intense competition in India, with an estimated 150 two-wheeler EV startups competing for marketshare in the over 20 million plus units per annum market locally. Sooorya EV will be amongst the first few 4-wheeler EV startups in India, and the first to launch a purpose-built electric taxi for the passenger fleet segment. The market for intra-city taxi hailing services is projected to grow rapidly to over $379 Billion by 2027 (Statista). The number of users of ride-hailing & taxi services will be over 1.45bn & the annual sales of passenger fleet vehicles will be around 12 million. However, there is hardly any vehicle purpose-built to suit the needs of the ride-hailing/sharing business, because personal car manufacturers do not want their brand to be sullied by catering to the passenger fleet / taxi segment. From an impact perspective, as per an analysis by WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development), 100% adoption of electric ride-hailing cars in India by 2030, will avoid use of 11 billion litres of fossil fuels a year, and result in a reduction of an estimated 12 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. Automobile component suppliers & investors interested to collaborate with us can get in touch with Arvind S - Co-founder & Chief Strategy Officer of Sooorya EV, who is currently based in India (Delhi NCR). We are still in stealth mode, but basic information is available on our website - www.sooorya.com #electricvehicles #india #ridehailing #ridesharing #emobility #sooorya #soooryaev
