⏲ Throwback Thursday ⏲ This weeks throwback is from 2009 when Edwards Coaches had airtime on Real Radio promoting the many destinations served in our UK and European brochures. We have all the recordings saved at Head Office! The great, late Ruth Madoc provided the voice over for a total of 8 adverts showcasing what Edwards has to offer. Today, our front line vehicles are now mainly Mercedes-Benz Tourismos as opposed to Setras shown in the picture. Our tour brochures have expanded but we still offer ...'plenty of legroom, air conditioning and very comfy seats - Simply the best way to get away'. #Throwbackthursday #Coachtravel #Radioadvert 🚌 🎶

The International Council of Air Shows convention takes place in Las Vegas this week. It's the first time I haven't been a speaker and attended in quite a few years. Huge FOMO, particularly seeing this video. The 'sizzle' reel from the opening ceremony. When the airshow organisers and display pilots and teams from around the world. Meet to exchange ideas and review the season from a safety, operations and entertainment perspective. It really helps that for the North American military solo and team displays. They announce on the first morning which airshows they are performing at for the next TWO years. This helps hugely in planning, budgeting, and managing visitor expectations. Like any business. For example, If you aren't allocated the Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Canadian Snowbirds, Red Arrows etc. it really makes a difference to your aircrew accommodation costs! But also to your visitor numbers too in many cases, without that 'star' performer. Sadly in the UK and Europe this doesn't happen. It’s usually only a few months before the season starts, if you are lucky! And even if you know privately, you daren't announce publicly until you have the 'official' word. Do you know how difficult that is for a marketer in terms of planning to drive engagement and therefore ticket sales? So I'll be watching from a far this year, a sacrifice that I have to make as I grow my business. Don't feel too sorry for me, I'll be back next year.
