We are thrilled to hear the news that Utah has been chosen to host the 2034 Winter Games! Welcoming the International Olympic Committee gave us a unique opportunity to be a part of history by showcasing Utah's strengths, potential, and Olympic legacy, while also reinforcing Edison House's commitment to excellence and community impact! Among the distinguished speakers were Mayor Erin Mendenhall, Fraser Bullock, president and CEO of the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee for the Games, and Catherine Raney Norman, four-time Olympic Speedskater and chairwoman of the SLC-UT Committee for the Games. Utah has so much to offer and we are incredibly excited for what lies ahead!

This week and next week I will combine three things I like 1) Collective Impact 2) Summer Olympics and 3) Beyoncé. So let’s pretend the next Summer Olymics will be hosted in your city. Using the comment box ⬇️ Let’s make a list of diverse stakeholders the Backbone Team should bring to the table to organize this effort. Second, why do you want to invite this stakeholder? What’s their contribution? What questions or comments are coming up for you as you create this list? S/o to the amazing Coaching Colleagues I work with who helped create this prompt. #collectiveimpact #collabortiveaction #togofargotogether

🎙️ New episode is live! I had the pleasure of sitting down with Aron McGuire, the CEO of USA Bobsled/Skeleton and this conversation is packed with insight. 🛷 In this episode, Aron dives deep into the values that have guided his leadership journey and shaped his approach to building a high-performance culture. From leveraging the talent transfer model to creating a sense of unity across teams, his insights on youth sport to elite sport are a must-hear. What I loved about our conversation is Aron’s philosophy of developing athletes and rethinking how we prepare athletes for life. He doesn’t just focus on winning medals—he’s about developing athletes as well-rounded people, who are better prepared to tackle life beyond sport. This holistic mindset is something we’re passionate about at Kuul Play, and I believe it’s what the future of youth sports needs. Listen in to hear how Aron is pushing the envelope in sports innovation, and how he is transforming USA Bobsled & Skeleton for generations to come. 🎧👉 Check it out now—https://lnkd.in/eD-g93M6 #Leadership #KuulConversations #YouthSports #USABobsled #Resilience #GrowthMindset #SportsInnovation #MentalToughness #TalentTransfer #TeamUSA

A Lesson from the Olympics to the Office As we watch the Olympic Games, we're reminded of a powerful truth: unity is what wins. In a time when division has become all too common, in politics, corporate America, and even families, the Olympics remind us division will NEVER win and NEVER create happiness. Last year our family was lucky enough to be able to see a practice USA 🏀 game. The unity we shared in the stands, knowing we have different opinions and backgrounds, but the core belief in 🇺🇸 is what wins. You can always find ways to bicker and hate, that’s the easiest way to lose. These Olympics games remind us that unity hits the same in every aspect in our life. For work, I had one of countless productive meetings with Ashlee Faulkner, Joey Medina, and Matt DeSantis just yesterday. Learning how we can improve as a company and as individuals. The wins are never because of one person. The potholes we hit are never because of one person. Though as leaders, it’s on us to work together. As CEO, if we are not better today, than we were yesterday, it’s 100% on me. To my team at Journey: thank you. We're building something remarkable, not just because of what we do, but because of who we are, together. 💚

In the world of sports, rivalries are not uncommon. From heated on-field confrontations to long-standing disagreements, it's easy to get caught up in the drama. But amidst the competition, there's something truly remarkable that often goes unnoticed – the power of sports to unite. On the field, we often witness clashes, differences of opinion, and heated moments among players during their games. But what truly captivates us are the extraordinary moments when these individuals come together, extending handshakes and sharing smiles. Now, some may argue that these gestures are merely for the media and public to speak out positively. But I beg to differ. It takes real courage to set aside differences, step onto the field, and genuinely connect with those you once clashed with. It takes courage to put on a smile and to extend a hand of friendship. Imagine a future where world champions are exactly that—the undisputed best team on the planet. As professional sports leagues and teams look to expand their appeal globally, supersonic flight can offer game-changing advantages. For U.S.-based leagues, travel to Europe can be faster than a cross-country flight is today. The need for additional recovery time for athletes is mitigated. Speed creates increased global accessibility—for teams, athletes, and fans. The basketball and hockey playoffs are in full swing and the sporting world is about to convene in Paris. Looking ahead, how might supersonic flight change the global playing field? Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eGumsgkr

Another day, another review of Roger Mitchell magnificent Sport’s Perfect Storm. Finally finished it earlier in the week, and for those of us who are paying attention, it presents a wonderfully engaging lens through which to view the challenges and opportunities that face our industry. I remain a bull on the societal, cultural and commercial power of sport but also remain a long time advocate of the need for change and for constant iteration. Those who know me, know I love my combat sports and to quote Tyson, “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”. Well, the punches are flying and the canaries are more numerous than the metaphors in this post. Opportunities abound. The next phase of global sport will be the most interesting and challenging of recent times. Remaining open minded, inquisitive and flexible will be crucial. Understanding the game, and the game theory, has never been more important and Roger’s book is a great place to start for those wishing to play. Chapeau Roger Mitchell and Etienne Dussartre - see you in Como.
