Recent weeks have been electrified by Olympic fervor, and one race that has captured the most attention was the 100m dash at the Paris Games, where Noah Lyles narrowly defeated Kishane Thompson in a photo finish! Did you know that in such close races, it’s the position of the torso not the head or legs that determines the winner? I always assumed it was the legs! 🤔 Did Kishane know this crucial detail? It seems he might not have, and that small oversight could have cost him the gold. 🥇 This got me thinking: how often do we rush through tasks without fully grasping the rules or miss opportunities because we overlook the fine print? Whether it’s understanding project requirements, listening to a client's needs, or catching minor errors, these details can make a huge difference. Sometimes, it’s the subtle details that set us apart. #AttentionToDetail #Leadership #Excellence #ContinuousImprovement #Olympics #Inspiration #Success

Good day to all. The Olympics Men’s 100 metre race final provides a great learning to Corporate folks running the Great Big Rat Race. There are two aspects of Performance Orientation that individual runners need to keep in mind. 1. Personal performance orientation versus targets: All 8 runners at the 100m finals finished the race under 10 seconds. This is the minimum requirement needed to win/ be part of the finals. In the corporate world - meeting/beating the monthly, quarterly and annual targets is what gets your Boss to recommend you for the next big promotion ! 2. Relative performance orientation: Whoever imagined that the 2nd placed (K Thompson) runner would lose by 1/5000th of a second (and that the runner who came last matched the performance of Carl Lewis when he won Olympic Gold in the same event many decades ago). Getting ahead in Corporate life - also means you need to deliver performances - better than others. So let this sink in - Personal Perfomance and Relative Performance Orientiation. Both are key measures to deliver success. #performance #olympics #motivation #leadership #promotion #careeradvice

Monday Motivation: Lean Into the 4th Quarter 🏆 As the year winds down, it’s easy to think the game is almost over—but in sports, some of the biggest wins happen in the 4th quarter. Championships are clinched in the final minutes, comebacks are made when teams refuse to give up, and a single play can change everything. The same is true in business and life. This is the time to *lean in*, not coast. There’s still time to revisit your goals, make strategic moves, and create the wins that will define your year. Whether it’s finishing a project, strengthening a relationship, or setting the stage for a strong start to next year, every action you take now matters. Great teams don’t just *survive* the 4th quarter—they *thrive*. So, how are you leaning in today to finish strong? Let’s bring our best to the field and close the year with momentum! #MondayMotivation #FinishStrong #PerformanceMindset #TruePerformance

Track and field has been a sport for hundreds of years, but how to increase and sustain viewership has been the topic of discussion. 4x Olympic gold medalist, Michael Johnson, created Grand Slam Track. But it’s just that, track events only. This excludes a large majority of athletes looking to increase their professional careers and causing viewers to miss out on high profile athletes such as Olympic gold medalist Tara Davis-Woodhall and Olympic silver medalist Shelby McEwen. https://lnkd.in/gSUJgaSG

The 2024 Summer Olympics are nearly here, and with it comes the opportunity to watch the best athletes in the world compete against each other. It's easy to tell who is the best in the world at running, swimming, and gymnastics. It's much harder to do so in the business world, where performance metrics can be few and far between, and too often those metrics don't tell the story of an organization's success. It's possible to capture employee performance AND link it to company success, but it takes buy-in from leadership and digital tools to make the process transparent and lasting. Learn how one organization did exactly that in this week's newsletter: https://lnkd.in/ep68bswa Don't get the newsletter delivered to your inbox? Sign up for it here: https://lnkd.in/es8AbHUT
