Yesterday I alluded to a time where I had to convince the CEO, CFO, and COO to give me in the region of $500k extra budget part way through a financial year. It was for a recruitment transformation project that would significantly improve our time to hire & increase applications from very hard to attract talent who were in high demand. However I never provided data on these two elements. I provided ROI data only that aligned to what mattered to them. The pinnacle of this process was a meeting with all three to present my proposal. But really it started weeks before. I spent several hours consulting with the COO, one to one, understanding what mattered to them and the metrics and data which drove them - time to hire wasn’t one, but $ impact of not hiring on time absolutely did. See the difference? Cutting a long story short. I walked into the room to meet with all three, they had just had another meeting, and the COO stood up, packed up their bag and said “I don’t need to stay, I’m 100% aligned with Steve’s plan”. I walked away with $490K (the 10k difference I was happy to give away) This is why we are launching on BenchmarCX the $ impact of candidate experience in our Customers results dashboard.
