I have implemented logic to make rerendering more efficient in my frameworkless project. It now checks all components that use a value in the state to see if the value has changed. If the value has changed, it only rerenders the particular component instead of rerendering the entire page like I had it before. Was fun writing this logic cause I first wrote tests and that really helped with implementation and understanding.

Stream VOD from this week is up! It wasn't the best stream but I think there was a lot of great learnings from this one and I'll be publishing some follow up content related to this for sure. Overall, we covered: 1. How to write Minitest 2. Minitest v RSpec 3. Wrote tests using our source 4. Learned about join tables and how they should use dependent: :delete_all, not :destroy when there isn't an ID field 5. How to test model methods and validations 6. How to write controller integration tests 7. How to write proper test data and do setups Next week, we'll back to wrap up what we started in this stream and hopefully that'll give us the ground work to follow up by starting to build out all our user facing features. With the explosion of techniques and tools for advanced document processing/document intelligence (especially for PDFs), I've started a page on #ApacheTika's wiki to give pointers for developers who need a bit more than what we can offer in "stock" Tika. Keeping this page up to date is a hopelessly Sisyphean task. 😁 Please take a look and contribute:
