So many applications for magnets - from wind turbines, EVs, medical implants... sometimes even dual applications as well for defense systems - and in any case their technical performance is crucial for any equipment even though their weight - in grams or in euros - is so little in the balance. US gvt and DOD, thru their MCEIP, are an example of what a constant and persistent strategy to recover sovereignty means really. Their understandings of the global supply chain is clear and the actions taken to remediate to the holes in the industrial base are focused, long term and cover the wide spectrum of mine-to-magnet domestic production. Of course it's big numbers. But it's a race. And this what we need in EU also to keep up the technological development towards a reliable supply chain.
