With our recent incorporation efforts allowing EarnIn to directly hire employees in Mexico City, Mexican Independence Day has never meant more to us. 🇲🇽 So we sat down with Kevin Gamboa, Software Engineer in our Mexico City office, to talk about how he celebrates the historic day and how our CDMX office is creating new opportunities in fintech for locals. What significance does Mexican Independence Day hold in Mexican culture? Besides the historical significance, we love that date because we have parties with family and friends, sing classic Mexican songs, have a blast with the traditional “pozole,” and at midnight we do the “Grito de Independencia.” It’s a fun day. Is there a favorite memory you associate with it? When I was at school, we had a parade in which all the boys and girls participated, either by dancing or doing other activities. They dressed us in typical clothes from those times, which gave a special touch to the event. It was really fun and made us feel very patriotic. What about EarnIn's office in Mexico excites you most? It gives more opportunities to Mexican people to find a good place to work and show how talented we are. The fact that more Mexican engineers will join the team and will be able to experience the great culture that Earnin has to offer. Why should others in Mexico consider joining EarnIn? I think the company lets you have a good work-life balance, and that’s not something very common these days. The people here are always glad to help you, and the mission of the company is noble. Looking for a career like that? Check out our careers page for our many openings in Mexico City with Kevin and the rest of our passionate, collaborative team around the world: https://bit.ly/48iksmZ

Yaroslav Zubko moved to New York in 2017 after building up his tech career in Ukraine. "In 2015, I traveled to New York for a two-week business trip. It was the first time I'd ever left Ukraine, where I grew up. I looked at all the huge buildings in the city and couldn't believe my eyes. New York was even more impressive than it seemed in the movies. In 2016, I was offered a role as a director of product design at a New York tech startup called UpTop. I hadn't been actively applying for US jobs at the time. They supported me in getting a visa, and I moved to NYC in June 2017," he said. "But the tech culture is very different in the US than in Ukraine. I've had to navigate these differences and assimilate into the work culture. The US is a great place to work with many opportunities. I love that it's progressive and more culturally diverse than Ukraine. In Ukraine, the tech sector is more consultancy-based. Money comes from overseas, from companies who outsource their IT needs to us. In the US, I feel that big companies are developing original ideas and patents, while in Ukraine, the biggest tech companies provide consultancy services," Zubko shared. "In general, I think efficiency is put on a pedestal in American culture. People value working as much as possible and making as much money as possible," he said and further added that Ukraine will always be his home, but he would be staying in the US for the foreseeable future. "After the war, I see myself returning to Ukraine and living between the US and Ukraine. I'd like to use my skills to help rebuild the country, like a phoenix coming from the ashes." Last week, I had an insightful conversation in #Lagos with a German founder who shared the arduous journey of solving a complex problem in the regtech space. Although I can't disclose the details, it involved navigating heavy regulations and persuading high-profile individuals. After four years of intense preparation, they are now successfully rolling out their first pilot in Germany. Their story resonated with me deeply... When we began our journey with COMESO, we faced skepticism from those who were concerned about our pace. I often wondered if these critics had ever tackled a real problem themselves... Building resilience in such a regulated space like #fintech and #healthcare in emerging markets is no small feat. It's our shared purpose that has kept us united. And despite my frequent travels and high-profile meetings, it's the team that's executing the hard work, making me confident in sharing our story today. While I was in #Nigeria, reflecting on our insights and preparing for the next tasks, the commitment of everyone back home was unwavering. The success and the incredible team behind COMESO is the true driving force of our progress! Alongside my exceptional co-founders, Vela Rajah and Sinit Negase Goitom, who lead COMESO in operations, finance, and compliance, our team has grown to 10 dedicated members. #Darlington, #Kweku, #Emmanuel, and #Daniel: Our #technical solution experts whose joy and excitement in virtual meetings fuel our progress. #Kai, #Clara, and #Tamer: The #data sourcing team ensuring we stay on strategy, preparing us for market completions and investor relations. Btw. Kai's enthusiasm is so infectious, as he once messaged me, "COMESO will go down in history!"😭 #Emmanuel and #Abraham: Engaging our #visibility efforts and managing intercontinental meetings between Nigeria and Germany, showcasing their commitment and growing skills in #marketing. #Yayra: Representing COMESO with professionalism and dedication in Ghana. For the past three years, our purpose has driven us forward. My colleague's experience, taking four years to pilot, reassures me that our journey's length is not a weakness but a testament to our #dedication and despite advice to keep our timeline private, I am proud of our steady progress! Building such a product requires a fully committed team, willing to solve complex problems, attend regular meetings, and execute together. Believing in the "why" and ensuring we WIN! Dear, Team! You are THE heart of COMESO, and together, with our extended network, we are building a solution to empower access to healthcare for our customers. Our visionary commitment ensures we understand our direction and purpose, driving us to wake up each day and push forward. #StepByStep I AM SO HONORED and READY, Let's GO! #FinancialInclusion #AccessToHealthCare #EmergingMarkets

While some local founders express concerns about constraints imposed by the Czech legal system to startups, I believe the real opportunity lies within the broader European legal ecosystem. Consider the posibility: a single market, one stock exchange, and a unified—or at least similar—legal framework across the continent. Czechia isn’t the barrier some might think. Indeed, stock options could be simplified by perhaps 10%, but at Rohlik Group we have navigated these issues successfully even within the Czech legal framework. Given Czechia’s size, it’s essential for every founder to think globally. Running a business valued at over €1 billion across the EU, I can attest that expansion into just neighboring countries presents unnecessary challenges and complexities.

It has been one month since my relocation to Berlin Here are some insights I've learnt during this period: - It is natural to mourn the life you left behind. - The discomfort associated with personal growth is genuine. - Feelings of loneliness and disorientation are to be expected. - Doubting your decision is a normal part of the process. - New experiences can be incredibly rewarding. - Maintaining openness is essential. Relocating to a new country is inherently challenging but you will navigate these changes successfully, one step at a time. #movingabroad #germany #berlin

Betrayed. There’s no other word for it. After years of unwavering dedication and hard work at Zenzero’s Bulgarian office—one of the oldest and most established offices in the company—we’ve been hit with a gut punch that none of us saw coming. Despite Michael’s endless claims about the company’s incredible growth and how well we’re all supposedly doing, we were blindsided by a team of lawyers who coldly informed us that our office is closing. And what are we offered for our years of loyalty and hard work? The bare minimum required by law. Is this what we deserved? Absolutely not. We’ve poured our hearts into making Zenzero the success it is today, constantly praised by our customers for the excellence we deliver. And now, this is how we’re repaid? With empty words and a ruthless decision that leaves us out in the cold. How could you do this to us, Zenzero? How could you betray a team that has given everything to this company? Do our customers even know the truth about how you treat your employees? They will now. To everyone reading this, know that we’re not going down quietly. We will see Zenzero in court, and we won’t stop until justice is served. To my network, I’m now open to new opportunities. If you know of any roles where dedication and hard work are actually valued, I’d love to connect. #OpenToWork #BetrayedByZenzero #JusticeForBulgaria #CorporateAccountability #Zenzero #Zenzero-msp #macquariegroup.
