🚗🔌 ASEAN Roundtable on the Future of Electric Vehicles 🔋🌏 I’m honored to participate in "The Future of #ElectricVehicles in #ASEAN Stakeholder Roundtable on Critical Challenges" on Nov 6 organized by USAID and US-SEGA alongside esteemed panelists Carla Buencamino and Dean Cher, and expertly moderated by Edmund Araga. With the rise of #EV transforming our roads, energy usage, and #climateimpact, The ASEAN Secretariat and the #UnitedStates have embarked on a significant mission: to build an ASEAN EV Roadmap that fosters a coordinated, sustainable, and thriving EV #ecosystem. This roundtable is a crucial step forward, aiming to bridge perspectives from non-government stakeholders in shaping actionable and practical recommendations for the ASEAN EV Implementation Roadmap. Discussions will focus on the challenges and solutions for a wide range of vehicles—including plug-in hybrids and EVs—as well as the essential ecosystem elements. As a speaker, I look forward to sharing insights of VINFAST on the role of stakeholders in accelerating EV adoption, addressing unique national and regional challenges, and identifying the potential synergies across ASEAN markets. The excess of #regulations in the #emobility market in Europe can stifle economic growth, as compliance burdens divert resources away from critical investments, expansion, and job creation. As businesses grapple with compliance costs, they have fewer resources to invest or they simply redirect their investments to other more permissive markets that understand regulation should be an ally and not a problem in the development of business models. In Europe, we also find that there are European regulations that overlap with national regulations and companies go crazy trying to comply with each other. These is one of the reasons which is stopping Europe's EV boom, that I expressed on behalf of AEDIVE (ASOCIACIÓN EMPRESARIAL PARA EL DESARROLLO E IMPULSO DE LA MOVILIDAD ELÉCTRICA) and AVERE - The European Association for Electromobility during the round table I had the chance to participate at the European New Energy Vehicle Conference, together with Frank Müller Nils Poel and Néstor Lázaro Gutiérrez.
