In the competitive hiring world, finding the perfect candidate can be daunting. Recently, I've been on the lookout for a senior interior designer to join our team. While the market is thriving, so are the salary demands, often surpassing our budget. Reflecting on past experiences, I've realized that it's not just about the years of experience listed on a resume. When I first started Dot2design, I made the mistake of prioritizing experience over personality fit. Despite their impressive background, the senior CAD designer I hired didn't vibe with our company culture, ultimately affecting the quality of our work. In contrast, a junior designer with minimal experience but the right attitude has become an invaluable asset to our team. Now, when interviewing candidates, I focus more on their personality and cultural fit rather than just their professional background. Finding the right fit is challenging, but when you do, it can transform your team dynamics and elevate your company's success.
