Align revolutionized their layout process with Dusty Robotics -- and their safety program! And what was good for Align's crews, was good for the bottom line too. "With employees no longer working on their hands and knees, we were able to eliminate a fatigue management plan and demonstrate reduced risk exposure," says David Donato, Director of Data Center Design and Construction. "We improved our safety program and were able to secure premium discounts in our workers’ comp insurance thanks to Dusty Robotics." https://lnkd.in/g_mXDzmb #automatedlayout #datacenterconstruction #missioncriticalconstruction #datacenters #datacenter #datacenterlayout

For now over a year I have had notes about a collection of initiatives that relate loosely under transport in my home state that I cleaned up and sent through to the Ministers office as executive summaries. The responses I have received are nothing short of absolutely disgusting level of attention to detail and demonstrate deeply concerning understanding of basic concepts. I am aware of the structure of government technology, I have consulted for them a few times specifically on 'too hard basket' projects that multiple agencies and individuals had already attempted and not resolved. I am aware of the state of their technology advisory panels (I can recall one time that one of their advisory panels rejected a data lake proposal because they needed a solution that "would store disparate types of data but be like a database" - that is the laymen's description of a data lake). They were on a range of topics from scalable smart city architecture (costed to include a revenue path to support local businesses in addition to emergency services and other department needs), need to update existing out of date legislation from petrol based power measures to universal ones to support electric motors, revisions to the state of autonomous vehicles legislation specifically for futureproofing robotics, and also one that was specifically about using edge based infrastructure to tackle the leading cause of accidents across the state which represents 1 Billion AUD per annum for Qld voters and drivers. Most of these points were things I was asked about when I was doing consulting/solution architecture 8 years prior and since then there has been no positive movement (or movement at all in some cases even with alternate solutions). The first few responses were that of go away. The next response was a formal response which was go away. The following response which required involving 2 different elected offices was a response to 3 of 6 items which I can only describe as if you asked for the current time and they responded with how they like a nice biscuit. I forever do not know why responding to one point as to how they joined a panel 2 years prior and not contributed to that panel was seen as a positive response. Now over the course of 2 months I have been attempting to speak with a ministers office in person instead of being rejected by email and I just received another go away email, not from the ministers office but from the department of transport. There is a very VERY good reason that highly technical people who like to get things done do not want to work for government agencies if they can help it.
