This event consists of a mile run at the start, a total of 3.5 miles of swimming broken up by 3 stations where they complete 100 honor pushups and 22 pull ups, and a final mile run at the end to the World Trade Center. 42 Days Until... ...The 2024 NYC Navy Seal Swim. To date, we have raised $4,000 towards our $5,000 goal!!!!!! Any support would be greatly appreciated and all proceeds go directly to Navy SEAL Foundation. What your support could mean: 1. $500 could fund travel for a wounded Seal or SWCC in need of specialized care for their return to duty. 2. $250 could provide graduate-level test prep assistance for a transitioning Seal or SWCC. 3. $150 could fund one session of grief counseling for a Gold Star family member. 4. $100 could pay for a physical rehabilitation session for a Seal or SWCC 5. $50 could cover two hours of Respite Child Care for one family of a deployed service member. 6. $25 could provide one meal for a Command Memorial. 7. $10 could fund 1 water bottle for a NWS kid at Summer Camp. The top comment I hear from our Beyond The Brotherhood fellows as they onboard is "I am so glad there is a screening process". Why would someone want to be screened before receiving benefits from a 501c3? Because everyone raises money with the Navy SEAL name but that is not where the money usually goes. Ask around - it's true. At BTB, we transition ONLY screened and selected Navy SEALs of character. That's it. There is an administrative load, especially in our first year when we had to set up the 501c3 - our program percentage was 71%, that means that 71 cents of every donation dollar went to the cause. (In the non-profit world, 67% is considered really good). This year, we are at 89%. As we come into the giving season, hit me up if you want to know how we are spending your donations. We squeeze every bit of benefit out of every dollar and it goes where you think it does - to build the next chapter in the lives of our nation's greatest warriors.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. Let's take a moment to remember those that put their lives on the line daily to keep up safe. Please, slow down! Remember, if something were to happen to you today, your employer would have you replaced before your obituary was published in the newspaper. I have spent several years working in that area. Every phone call needed you there yesterday. #dispatchers for #trucking companies, I urge you to adopt my phone #etiquette. I can understand that things come up and is out of everyone's control; however, I would get calls that said they needed this amount of water or mud hauled by tomorrow morning. My first question, "How long have you known about this job?" They have typically known about the job a week at least. My second question, "Why are you just now calling me?" Usually a bit of silence on the other end of the line. Me: "Failure to plan on your behalf does not constitute and emergency on my behalf." If you are one of those company men that had the privilege of dealing with me, I hope you are giving the trucking companies more of a heads up today. I will get your job done, but don't wait until the last possible minute to call and expect me to drop everything.

Something to think about
A decade after Breaux Burns deployed to the Philippines during Typhoon Haiyan’s landfall in 2013, he reflected on his experience. Burns, a Marine Corps veteran who now serves as a fire captain, has volunteered for six other international operations with TR since. "Our team worked tirelessly, with no breaks in between. But it didn’t matter. For each of us, it was never about our own hardships; it was always about the people of the Philippines, many of whom I’ll never forget." Join us in doubling down on our international efforts! Until the end of April, your donation will be matched by a generous donor, helping us expand our commitment to meeting the needs of communities worldwide. Donate Now! https://trusa.co/IntlMatch
