Never Underestimate The Benefits Of Drilling The Basics 🔄 💬 "We can't win, they keep on coming towards us, even though we are firing at them." During operations, reports consistently indicated insurgent commanders' surprise at the speed and effectiveness of coalition advances during close-quarter combat. These tactics disrupted the enemy's usual methods of defence and counter-attack. The intense fire fights and continuous forward movement over challenging terrain surprised the enemy, who were accustomed to more static engagements. 🎖️ Any veteran reading this will instantly recognize these tactics as the "Fire and Manoeuvre" drill, which is the bread and butter of any infantry soldier's role. This Tactic works on the ability to maintain forward momentum during a firefight whilst maintaining a heavy weight of fire towards the direction of the enemy. This works by reducing the enemy's ability to return fire thus giving the impression that our soldiers are both firing and advancing simultaneously as one body. This reinforced in us the benefit of finding something that works, reducing it to its simplest form, and drilling it endlessly. Each branch of the forces does this differently, adding and adapting as the environment dictates.
