DTL Hawaii’s Post

Wahi Pana: Storied Places is launching a temporary public art project in February 2025, celebrating wahi pana—storied places or sacred sites that hold deep cultural, historical, and spiritual significance to Native Hawaiians. Through 11 multimedia installations across Oʻahu, debuting in February, May, and September, thirteen Native Hawaiian and Hawaiʻi-based artists will bring moʻolelo to life, connecting communities to Hawaiʻi's rich cultural heritage. This initiative will showcase a variety of creative storytelling forms, including sculpture, video, photography, poetry, painting, and mele. The project will span from 2025 through 2028, offering a series of art installations, educational events, and immersive experiences. Learn more about the sites and artists that are part of the initiative, and stay up to date with the project on Instagram @wahipana. #dtl #dtlhawaii #hawaiianculture #wahipana #publicartchallenge #storiedplaces
