Legacy: Leaving Something in People, Not for People 💡
Legacy isn’t about material wealth; it’s about the values, lessons, and impact you leave in the hearts of others. On Day 88 of the #100DayChallenge, Dr. Wright reflects on the true meaning of legacy—what we instill in our children, communities, and the world around us.
As a father, bringing his 14-year-old son to speaking engagements isn’t just about bonding; it’s about teaching him the importance of caring for others and making an impact that lasts beyond the moment. Legacy is built through every interaction, every lesson, and every moment of inspiration.
Ask yourself: What legacy will you leave in the lives of those around you?
Let’s make 2025 the year of purpose-driven impact and intentional living. 🙌✨

What's going on, fam? It's day 88. Day 88. It's about legacy. Legacy is not about leaving something for people's. Legacy is about leaving something in people. I think about this myself often, especially as a father. My son is, he's getting older now. The the young buck is 14 years old. He's going to be graduating from 8th grade this year. What am I leaving inside of him? What type of man will he be one day? What type of father will he be one day? What type of community leader will he be one day? So I really want him to understand that. Legacy is about, you know, what is the impact impression that you're making on people because it really makes a difference. Always bring him with me to as many speaking engagements as possible because I want him to know that I care not just about him, but I care about others. What is the legacy you're going to leave in people, in your children, in your community, in your home, outside your home, in your school, in your corporation? What is the legacy that you believe in people because that's what really makes a difference. Blessing.
"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see."
― John F. Kennedy
This quote beautifully captures the essence of legacy. It reminds us that the values, lessons, and love we pass on to the next generation ripple into a future that we may never witness. Our actions shape the world our children will inherit, making it crucial that we nurture their growth with care and wisdom. In many ways, children represent our contribution to the future—a lasting testament to the impact we have on a world beyond our own lifetime.
While I may not be perfect, I strive each day to be better than I was the day before, knowing that I am leaving a legacy for my son and future generations. It’s a choice I make with intention, understanding that my influence will extend far beyond my lifetime.
Looking at the state of today's world—wars, racial divisions, and societal chaos—it’s clear we can do better. It often feels like instead of making choices that build a brighter future for our children, we are actively contributing to its destruction.
So I ask, are you intentional about the choices you make each day? How are you working to create a better tomorrow for the generations to come?

Guardians of Legacy: A Call to Action
The values instilled in us by our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents are more than traditions—they’re the guiding principles that shape our character and define our purpose. Honesty, respect, hard work, and kindness—these timeless virtues have been passed down as a legacy, not just for us to cherish, but for us to carry forward.
It’s our responsibility to ensure this legacy doesn’t end with us. The choices we make today set the foundation for the generations to come. By staying rooted in these values, we honor the sacrifices of those before us and build a brighter, stronger future for those who will follow.
In today’s world, many behaviors and attitudes are being normalized that conflict with these principles. The pressure to conform to fleeting trends or toxic mindsets is real—but resisting this trap isn’t just a personal win. It’s a commitment to safeguarding the moral compass of our society.
When we reject what’s harmful and embrace what’s right, we set an example that echoes far beyond our lives. We prove that values aren’t old-fashioned—they’re the blueprint for progress, resilience, and meaningful connections.
Let’s stand firm. Let’s take up the responsibility of protecting and promoting the values that have shaped us. Together, we can ensure that our legacy of integrity, respect, and kindness continues to thrive—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
The future is built on the choices we make today. Will you choose to honor the legacy?

The Joy of Serving Others
We live in a consumer-driven world that constantly encourages us to consume—knowledge, resources, and success.
But the truth is that growth is not just one-sided; it doesn't come from only receiving; it comes from pouring into others.
When you serve, you learn. When you give, you grow.
The joy of serving others is that it stretches us beyond our needs and opens doors to new perspectives, empathy, and deeper fulfillment.
Whether it's mentoring a colleague, sharing your skills, or simply offering support, each act of service leaves an indelible mark—not only on others, but also on ourselves.
This month I had the opportunity to serve in different forums that have had an impact on me.
• Speaking to the young adults in our church community on their monthly theme Woman Arise.
• Served as an MC at the F4 ( Financial Freedom For Families)
• Friday Motivation with the Snap care team Mac Duke
• Sharing the Word of God on Sunday at our local church community
It is such a joy and a privilege to serve others.
We were never meant to keep everything we learn or experience to ourselves.
Growth happens in the give-and-receive from each other as a community. 🌟
So ask yourself: Who can I serve today? How can I pour into someone else's journey?
Because in the end, it's not just about what we take in, but what we give that shapes our legacy.

Guiding social impact organizations and individuals to envision themselves as future ancestors so that they can create a story that leaves a legacy beyond this lifetime through Wellness Consulting, Speaking, and Coaching
What does connecting with our ancestors have to do with our mission, vision, and values within an organization?
I was recently asked to support with clarity on developing a vision statement on what can happen within five years to present to potential funders…
However, I’m not interested in your 5 year plan as much as your 500 year plan. 👏🏾
As visionaries and changemakers that are dreaming into a future that has yet to be manifested in the physical realm, we are working with science fiction and imagination here!
So here’s my personal breakdown…
🪷 Vision: The legacy we’re here to leave behind as future ancestors. This destination may not be met in this lifetime, & that’s okay. Can we meet this vision with excitement over what’s possible instead of dread? 👁️
🪷 Mission: The “How,” aka the train that’s going to take us there (inspired by ancestor Harriet Tubman, who I called upon at our altar). 👵🏾
🪷 Values: The railroad to help us stay on track when things feel whack. 🚂
How are we planting seeds for the next generation, while watering the ones that were placed in the soil before us? 🌱
And who do we call upon at the altar of our hearts when the road feels challenging, remembering that our predecessors were not absolved from many of the same fears as us?
While we can come up with the perfect verbiage of what to say and how to respond, I’m more curious about how this vision is being felt & embodied - and the personal story as to WHY this work is so important to you…
How will you make others within your community feel seen, safe, & heard amidst what’s happening in our climate of uncertainty? And how do you want to be remembered when your time comes?
These are more than just workshops; this is ancestor training. 👏🏾
Thanks again Arizona AANHPI for having me support your team with wellness + storytelling! Such an incredible civic engagement organization based in Phoenix, AZ striving for equity and justice for all through civic engagement, prison reform, climate justice, youth empowerment and more.
If you’d personally like to dig deeper into your own story, consider joining one of my upcoming retreats or book me as a speaker/facilitator for your organization where we get to envision ourselves as future ancestors and the legacies we’re here to leave behind. 🙏🏾

In a world where influence shapes futures, there's no greater gift we can give our children than the power of our own example. "Be what you want your children to be" isn't just a mantra—it's a guiding principle that ignites potential and shapes destinies.
Our every action is a testament to integrity, kindness, and
resilience. With each step, we pave the way for our children to tread boldly,

On a Mission to Help 1 Million Parents Write at Least 1 Lasting Legacy Letter | I Can Help You, Your Employees, and/or Your Clients Experience the Joy of Writing Their Letter | Speaker | Coach | Founder | Dad
If you were to make a list of the top 10 things you need to provide for your children to help them be successful, what would be on your list?
Food, shelter, clothing - these are the obvious essentials.
But where does "hear my voice" rank for you?
It's a critical component often overlooked.
Your voice can instill confidence, strength, and hope, or it can breed despair and limit potential.
My dad's Legacy Letter changed my life by ensuring his voice cut through the noise, offering words of guidance and support when I needed them most.
Legacy Letters amplify our voices with the words our loved ones need to hear. I firmly believe a Legacy Letter is the #1 tool for parents seeking to leave a lasting impact.
This fall, I'm eager to assist organizations in crafting their Legacy Letters, both in person and virtually.

Today's card I selected is a good reminder of the gift of common humanity. This sense that we are not alone, that others too have challenges just like ours, that our challenges are not uniquely created or easily independently solved, that the gift of sharing a challenge is to respect and acknowledge the competence and wisdom of other talented individuals around us and that they too can support, guide, assist each of us and in doing so we all improve.
