Companies have a responsibility to ensure those that are driving for them are fit to do so. Given these figures any company that does not have a impairment policy and a robust means to ensure drivers are not impaired will be at risk of enforcement action against the company and individuals who are responsible. SHOCKING STATS. If you employ staff who drive for work, do you randomly test them for alcohol and drugs? If not, why not? 1. Do you just bury your head in the sand and hope you never have to tackle the subject or 2. Do you just keep your fingers crossed that you will never have to deal with the aftermath of an employee killing themselves or someone else while driving for work or 3.
