🎁It's here - an early Christmas present from the National Highways Driving for Better Business Programme. Your December #FleetSafety Focus https://lnkd.in/dTxHMSJs ⚠️The theme is Drink and Drug Impairment - driving is, for most people, the most dangerous activity they do. We know in the majority of cases that the initial causation of a collision is often to do with the driver’s performance, with some form of drug or alcohol impairment being a common issue. It’s a misconception that the risks are limited to recreational drugs. While they clearly do play a part, it’s also important to recognise that self-prescribed and over the counter drugs can also impact on driver behaviour and perfomance. 👉🏽It’s vital that as an organisation, and indeed as a manager or owner, you are confident that your drivers understand the impact and the risks of drink and drug driving – not only to themselves, but also to the livelihood of the company they are driving for. Penalties can be severe. 🤔So how confident are you that your drivers are not drink or drug impaired? Check out our free posters, driver info resources, and driver messages - plus our regular legal update from Mike Hayward of Woodfines Solicitors and a timely video message from National Highways' Head of Commercial Vehicle Incident Prevention, Mark Cartwright, in this month's free safety focus. And, of course, you can also access our free Driving for Work Policy Builder and Template to make sure you have this important area covered: https://lnkd.in/dTxHMSJs #fleetmanagement #driverwellbeing #fitnesstodrive #riskmanagement #workrelatedroadrisk #safetyatwork Anne-Marie Penny DipASM MARRM Simon Turner MARRM MAFP Fiona Pick Mike Higgins BEng MILT Jim Magner FCILT, MARRM Sharon Mitchell Nigel Holmes Ean Lewin Lesley O'Brien OBE FCILT Andrew Drewary FCILT MARRM Becky Hadley Crystal Holmes Road Safety Markings Association Ben Peters Hummingbird Insurance Services Matthew Gregory C. 1st Choice Insurance ALLMI Tom Wakefield ADRIAN walsh RoadSafe ARRM UK ProjectEDWARD TyreSafe Stuart Lovatt Aon Neale Kinnear Applied Driving Rob Bailey APSE - Association for Public Service Excellence ARVAL UK LIMITED Louise Ashley-Cox Pete Clark Association of Fencing Industries (AFI)

3wI heard an interesting fact the other day that the majority of donor body parts in the UK are from guys aged 18-27. This also tied in with another fact I'd heard, and that is that there is also a fad amongst 18-25 year old guys to not wear seatbelts when driving. 😲
