Attention, sales battalion! 📚 It’s the end of the week, and that means it’s time to debrief! If you look at all the conversations you have with prospects this week, what do the best ones have in common? Yes, they may have had budget, they may have had the right job title, or they may have been available to meet with you. Those are just surface-level attributes. Truthfully, the best prospects come from the best target audiences. To ensure that we are only reaching out to our ideal targets next week, we sat down with Dr. Yaniv Zaid, author of the 21st Century Sales Bible and former officer in the Israeli Air Force. He shared a simple system that we can use to make sure we are navigating our audiences to prioritize those who we can sell more to and serve more along the way. It’s all in this week’s Bulletproof Selling Sales system, linked below!

You probably know the slogan of the U.S. Marine Corps: The few. The proud. The Marines. Here’s a lesson sales teams can take from our nation’s best: Getting good applicants gives you the best chance of putting together an elite unit. Instead of hunting for high-potential sales reps, give them a reason to come to you. I heard a story of a Marine recruiter visiting a high school. Representatives from every branch of the military took turns speaking to the student body, making their pitch for why people should serve their country as a soldier or pilot. When the Marine recruiter got up to speak, he used only three lines: “Most of you aren’t cut out for the Marines. If you are, come talk to me. I’ll be outside.” In a matter of seconds, the recruiter hooked the attention of a few students who took those words as a direct challenge. They wanted to prove they were more than cut out for the toughest assignment. If you want to build a sales team of the best and brightest, you shouldn’t need to convince anyone to join. Throw down the gauntlet and see who responds. Those are the reps you want on your team. See YOU in the gym today. On purpose... WITH purpose! Timmy

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a fair share of conversations with Israeli reservists navigating the delicate balance of war and work. - Heading into combat Sunday to Tuesday, then back in the office by Wednesday. - Spending hours/days in enemy territory, then returning to send pipeline reports, lead demos, or get contracts signed. - Getting wounded in combat, and still closing deals from the hospital! - Juggling these demands while being parents to young children. For those outside Israel, this is hard to comprehend. But in Israel, it’s the reality. Grit and resilience is woven deeply into the fabric of Israeli culture. And it is is exactly what sales leaders often say they’re looking for in candidates. So if you want professionals who can perform under pressure, look no further: I happen to know many Israeli sales professionals who exemplify this; like hitting quota for the year despite spending over 200 days in the reserves.

Hiring a veteran is not just a patriotic duty, but it's also a smart business decision. Veterans bring a sense of professional urgency that is crucial in winning over a customer's trust. This trust can lead to long-lasting relationships, which is essential in any business. 💪 💪 Moreover, the bonds that veterans form during their time in the military are unbreakable and can last a lifetime. This camaraderie can easily carry over into the business sector, making veterans an invaluable asset to any team. 🚂 Keeping customers and gaining customer trust is important. Think differently about the approach. #veterans #sales #softwaresales

What a great post on what Army Infantrymen bring to the table! After 22 years as an Army 1SG (Infantry/Airbone/Ranger), I transitioned into sales, a completely new arena for me! In the renewable energy sector, I closed $50 million in deals, and now I proudly manage Army and SOCOM accounts for EZ STAK. Leadership and sales are synonymous, they’re both about influencing and inspiring action. As Infantrymen, we’ve spent our careers leading teams, adapting under pressure, and finding solutions to complex problems. That’s #grit. That’s #resilience. And that’s what makes infantrymen highly effective in the sales world. Sales isn’t always just about numbers; it’s about building #trust, asking the right questions, and delivering results. Infantrymen know how to adapt quickly, execute efficiently, and influence outcomes in any environment. what I would say to my fellow Infantrymen considering a new path is you’ve already mastered the hardest leadership challenges out there. Apply that same focus and drive to sales, and you’ll thrive. The skills you’ve developed in training and combat, translate directly into success in this field. Let's Go! You motivated me this morning Tim Best! Thank you! Cameron Gemoets, PMP, CSM Christopher Ficht Danny Thurman Mario Cockrell Ian Brambs Peter Rooney Shane Lawrenson Robert “Rob” Gonzalez

What does an Army infantryman know about succeeding in sales? A lot more than you might think. Many of the skills that drive success in sales are the same ones service members practice daily: ✅ Solving problems ✅ Asking the right questions ✅ Listening well ✅ Following processes ✅ Building resilience I recently spoke with a former Army infantryman who had no sales experience when he left the military. After completing just one upskilling program in technical sales, he landed a great job. Today, he’s thriving in a remote sales role, making a great living - and, most importantly, he’s discovered that he loves this career pathway. Transitioning service members, your career opportunities aren’t limited by your past experiences - they’re far broader than you realize because of the skills you’ve honed. Stay open-minded about where your skills can take you, and reimagine how they can apply to new and exciting career paths.

When we have this organization up and running correctly we can have dozens or maybe hundreds of salespeople spread out all over the world far away from headquarters and possibly not really seeing the people from headquarters more than once a year. We may also have a half dozen or a dozen people in headquarters… whose jobs are focused on the international market and we have to communicate information among everybody. Not to slip back into military metaphors but people like to talk about Sun Tzu the Chinese military philosopher and I think one of his chapters that people get most wrong is his chapter on communication. People very often don't understand the value and importance of internal communication in business and especially to sales. In warfare they say there are three elements of the effectiveness of a military unit: communication, mobility and firepower. If you don't have communication and mobility all firepower is simply whatever is in one spot at one time and you can't generate additional firepower or scale up. Why am I babbling about firepower when I'm talking about sales? If we are dealing with selling internationally and we are dealing with essentially a long line of people between where the product is manufactured and where the customer is. the communication must be stellar and crystal clear and this is one of those areas with a great deal of failure. #internationalsales #sales #globalsalesmentor

If you want to see what "winning even if you're losing" looks like, here it is. I am in love with every sales tip this guy puts into the world. Can you imagine how fun your work would be if you weren't so fixated on "success"? People like Dale Dupree know that pursuit is good, but needy pursuit is repulsive. Change the game, and you might be more inclined to play it more. Stop needing to win, and just go be great at what you do. #UBU #professionaldesign
