🎉Last week I led a “Behind Frenemy Lines” book club discussion at St. Mary’s Hospital with the Bon Secours Trauma Informed Care Committee. Not only did I receive some great feedback, this predominantly female audience showed that.... ♥️Women CAN BE each other’s greatest allies!! 🎉Women supporting women. It’s what get me excited!! 🤩If you or someone you know is looking for a workshop tailored to the specific needs of the women in your organization, send me a message and let’s make a plan! 🙌🏼Trust me, this is a huge WIN for leaders and teams that want to be better, TOGETHER. ♥️Today I will be fearless. Today I am grateful. Shine on beautiful people. 🦄 #PsychologicalSafety #frenemies #behindfrenemylines #changethebehavior #squadgoals #empoweringwomen #sisterhood #connection

What is intersectionality, and why does it matter when it comes to leadership development? And how might things like mental health, body autonomy, reproductive health affect our success as leaders and the success of organizations? Intersectional leadership and creating inclusive workplaces require a unique skills set: understanding structural barriers and social justice, promoting mental health, and connecting these to large scale impact and outcomes. Christian Nunes’s unique blend of experiences as NOW’s National President, a mental health professional, and a dedicated social justice advocate will offer actionable strategies for dismantling structural barriers and promoting mental health in leadership, including: ✅ Techniques for leading with an intersectional lens to address sexism and racism. ✅ Practical advice on building inclusive environments and supporting team well-being. ✅ Lessons on effective advocacy and leveraging personal expertise for societal change. ✅ Inspiration from Christian’s journey as a young, impactful leader in challenging spaces. This episode will delve into the intersection of mental health, feminism, intersectionality, the societal impact of abortion restrictions and how that affects the wellbeing and inclusive leadership practices of leaders. Grounded in peer-reviewed research and analysis, National NOW President and a licensed clinical social worker, Christian Nunes will explore how we navigate the complexities of these issues as leaders, and the critical role of Black feminism within an intersectional lens. Christian will debunk common myths, share personal stories, and offer practical recommendations, all through an unbiased, research-oriented lens. In 2016, I conducted a LinkedIn poll asking if financial professionals should disclose their political affiliations to clients. The responses were mixed, with some saying they only see “green” instead of red or blue. The consensus, however, was that financial professionals should remain apolitical. 🌐 Fast forward to today, and the landscape has drastically changed. Over the past eight years, we’ve witnessed a leader who has threatened the rights and lives of many Americans, including women, LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and more. This individual has been impeached twice, indicted four times, and found guilty on multiple counts, including falsifying business records and fraud. 📉 Despite this, some still expect us to set aside these issues for the holidays. But why should we spend time with those who voted to strip away our rights and the rights of our loved ones? It’s crucial for our mental health to set boundaries. 🧠 That’s why I shared this powerful video by Joy Reid and Amanda Joy Calhoun. It’s okay to tell family members why you won’t be joining them for the holidays. Similarly, it’s okay to choose not to work with financial professionals or others who don’t respect your rights. 🤝 @Females and Finance has a network of financial professionals who specifically support LGBTQ+, Black, Brown, neurodivergent, and other marginalized communities. If you find yourself in a firm where you feel isolated or unsupported, come join us at @Planning for Good. We welcome you to be yourself and thrive with us. #SayGayWithUs 🌈 Watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/gsyAtmc6 #FinancialProfessionals #LGBTQ #Inclusion #MentalHealth #Boundaries #FemalesAndFinance #PlanningForGood #Diversity #Equity #Trust
Joy-Ann Reid on Instagram: "My @thereidout conversation with psychiatrist Dr Amanda Calhoun about ways we can heal and protect ourselves in this moment. And no, you don’t have to allow the people who voted for this nightmare into your life. No one has a right to your time. Honor your feelings and take care of yourself! ❤️"

💡 “One of the most important ways we can open up gender-transformative conversations is by meeting men and boys where they’re at, taking an interest in their passions, and building from there.” 🎥 In this video, Daryl George from the Caribbean Male Action Network (CariMAN) shares an moment from a boys' summer camp where he successfully started conversations on mental health by connecting with their love for football. Through relatable discussions breaking down stereotypes, Daryl manages to build trust and rapport with boys to engage in discussions on gender issues. ✅ Key takeaway: To create meaningful change, we must meet men and boys where they are, understand their interests, and create spaces for open, grounded dialogue. 📢 Join the movement: Let’s elevate these everyday stories of transformation! Share your own experiences and insights using #HowToTalkWithMen. 🔗 Learn more at https://lnkd.in/e484Knqm #HowToTalkWithMen is a joint campaign of MenEngage Alliance to elevate the diverse, positive, everyday stories of change among men and boys that often go unheard–from across MenEngage Alliance and beyond. #GenderJustice #Masculinities #SocialChange #Feminism #GenderEquality #Leadership
