My family and I try to give around Giving Tuesday as there are often matching incentives that multiply the impact. We tend to focus on education organizations, not only because it is very relevant to our current phase of life with two young kids, but also because we believe that a solid, equitable education foundation leads to healthier, happier, more successful communities. Share if you will be giving and where on the post below!

“Giving is good for people. You did a kind thing listener and in that moment it felt good”. I turn the tables on Rob Woods and interview him for the Fundraising Bright Spot podcast. Sometimes there are narratives in our head that don’t make it easy to be a fundraiser, to pick up the phone, to be creative with donors. If you want to hear examples to help shift your confidence, and smash that narrative. Then have a listen to some of Rob’s well researched ideas. Including some brilliant examples of gifts, thanking, stewardship. And the psychology of giving.

We have two upcoming webinars ‣ Why Cost Per Dollar Might be the Most Important Metric July 26 (Fri) at 10am MST Based on the original talk at NTC 2023, this is a critical look at how Cost Per Dollar can be used to promote growth within an organization, without using it as an efficiency metric. It affects how we decide what investment to make, and how to budget. ‣ Breaking Charitable Raffles August 28 (Wed) at 10am MST Over this summer, we will have participated in over 40 charitable raffles (over 25 already) to perform an experiment. At the end of August we're going to talk through the results, what it means for charitable lotteries, and how we can improve them to reduce potential abuse as online raffles become more prolific. *** Registration links for each of these webinars are below. Subscribers of Nonprofit Spelunking at the "Webinars and More" level will get free access to them, with the link shared on the Patreon page the morning of the webinar. Check out this podcast...thank you to Chera Reid, PhD , Efrain Gutierrez , and Trinel Torian, PhD for creating the space to have this conversation in which we discussed how we/communities are in relationship with one another. We must be intentional in supporting access, inclusion, and justice. When folks can share and receive what they need to fully participate (and lead) and we are deliberate in challenging ourselves about what other perspectives are missing in decision-making, it strengthens philanthropy and fosters everyone's ability to thrive and dream.
Our Executive Director, Ryan Easterly, was a recent guest on the "Becoming The Vision" podcast by Freedom Dreams in Philanthropy! 🎙 They had an insightful conversation about the importance of having community in philanthropy, and the ongoing need to reduce harm and promote inclusion in the sector.
