Do you scrutinise accommodation whenever you travel? I can’t not do it now, it’s hardwired in. Last week I shared an airbnb with a couple of my fellow property investors. It was a great little find, in a recently refurbished bungalow just moments from our event. (Thanks Christos!) The living area and bathroom had been lovingly refurbished (quite recently) but the bedrooms felt hurried and unfinished. Mine had no bedside lights and the mattress was super uncomfortable which is a massive no no. Luckily I was still tired enough to sleep really well regardless, but you can’t scrimp on the bedrooms, it’s where guests need and expect the most when it comes to comfort. And the single child’s bed at floor level for Chris? That really made us laugh. Moving onto the living area, what is it about downlights? So beloved by builders! Bloody awful! (Unless it’s a bathroom and MAYBE the kitchen or a cupboard) They really don’t work in a living area, where you want to create atmosphere through careful use of lighting. But I did like the faux marble tiles in the bathroom. What a surprise, they really went for it! The best part, however, was being able to enjoy breakfast in the back garden. Sometimes it’s the little things that really stand out about a stay! How can you offer something extra?
