To the CA freshers from May-24 batch : Following profiles to be avoided or to be joined only if extremely sure that you want to make your career in the same ; 1. Relationship Manager Roles in Banks : Sales role and hardly use of your CA related knowledge and extreme pressure of Sales with weekly/ monthly targets. 2. Credit Manager in Banks/ NBFCs : Slightly better than the relationship manager but still a monotonous and a high pressure job. The job requires working in strict banking norms and most of the job is to be done within strict financial criterias. Thus doesn't have any room for individual creativity. 3. Foreign Outsourcing Roles in Accounting etc : Although the package can be good but the quality of work is mostly copy paste. Monotonous job and hardly anything to be innovative. 4. Outsourcing divisions of Big 4s (USI, GDS, SDC etc) : They pay handsomely but the quality of work is not that good as compared to what you'll get in Indian practice. Most of the work is copy paste and very little learning. Avoid in case you're getting good opportunities in Indian Big-4s or other bigger firms as your learning will be much faster here. Most of these jobs can be performed by a normal graduates as well. CA is recruited just because they have a better understanding of finance and overall knowledge due to articleship. Over the years, I have seen many of my friends / juniors/ colleagues joining these profiles and wanting to quit just within 3-4 months. Hence I shared this here so that most of you can avoid making this mistake and regret later. Always ask for the Job Description (JD) before the job and understand it thoroughly before joining. The companies might try to fool you by giving a fancy title for basic jobs. Share this in your connections / friends and feel free to reach out for any other queries. All the best !! #ca #charteredaccountant #finance #cafresher #cawithswag

Hello CA freshers ! Are you preparing for job interviews, then you should definitely have answers to these questions irrespective of the roles you appear for : 🎷Why are you not joining the organisation where you completed your articleship from ? 🎷Why do you want to switch to industry from auditing/ taxation? 🎷Why do you want to change your domain ? 🎷How many attempts you took to clear CA and reason for not clearing in the 1st ? (mostly not asked) 🎷Why have you still not got any job after months of result declaration? You can skip the last one for now but keep in mind if you aren’t able to find the best match for another month or so. AI on My Salary! Here's my analysis of average salary packages for CA freshers: 30+ LPA: Top rankers (typically 5-6 candidates) 20-30 LPA: Rank holders with a strong background and additional qualifications 15-20 LPA: Rank holders who don't fall in the above categories 12-15 LPA: First-attempt CAs with Big 4 articleship experience 9-12 LPA: Big 4 firms and some industries (no first-attempt requirement) 6-9 LPA: Other CA freshers outside the categories above In fields like Investment Banking or Consulting, initial packages may be lower, but growth potential is often much higher. Also, Packages do not reflect the true picture, there is always a different fixed and variable component. Some might think that even 30 LPA is low for a CA, but this is the reality and is almost on par with the average packages at B-Schools. If a CA is paid less initially, it doesn’t imply a lack of potential, Rank and first attempt might matter at the start, but in the long run, experience and performance drive growth and recognition. Please feel free to expand on this or add any additional insights.

Catch-22 of CA Fresher:No experience ,No Job "Hello fellow CAs " I wanted to discuss a pressing issue that many of us have faced - the struggle to secure a job despite clearing one of the toughest exams, CA, in May 2024! The paradox is that every organization wants to hire experienced candidates, but how can we gain experience if we're not given a chance as freshers? "And to make matters worse, when we do get an interview call, we're often told that we'll be offered a lower package due to our lack of experience. But then, we're asked questions that are more suitable for experienced professionals! We're expected to have practical experience rather than therotical knowledge. And when asked about client handling, we're stuck because we haven't had the opportunity to work with clients independently. It's a double standard that can be demotivating and frustrating. How are we supposed to gain experience if we're not given the chance to work and learn? Let's share our experiences and advice on how to navigate these situations. How can we turn the tables and show our potential despite being freshers? #freshers #jobsearch #interview #experience #careeradvice #CAfreshers"

❗ CA Freshers sitting for Aug'24 campus, here is some advice for you - 1) Don't consent on the first day itself, wait till the last day, some companies take more time to shortlist candidates. 2) Hedge yourself. Some companies may have 4-6 vacancies and some may have 40-60 vacancies. Try to keep 2 companies of both kind so that you won't end up not getting any offer. 3) Some companies with lower vacancies further shortlist candidates after getting consent.. Keep that in mind while giving consent. (Like in my case it was BSV) 4) Don't keep more than 3 interviews in a day. Worst that can happen is timing clash among interviews 5) Prepare your best alteast for your top 2 companies. Read Annual Report. Go through major investments/ projects and try to read the profile they're offering. 6) Keep atleast 2/3 offers from off campus in your hand while sitting in campus so that you have that negotiation power. 7) If you are not shortlisted, don't lose heart! Keep applying off campus, try reaching all your references ... You are a CA, you ain't gonna sit without any job. Follow Nehal Khandelia for more.
