Reviewing 3GPP TR 22.837 on #5G ISAC use cases. While some are very interesting, some will likely never see commercial deployment. For example, these are some interesting - and potentially very valuable - use cases for ISAC, which no other technology can currently offer: 1) Sensing for UAV intrusion detection: monitor an area to ensure no UAVs enter it. 2) Health monitoring at home: use 5G small cells to monitor health KPIs, including heart rate and respiration (!) 3) Public safety search and rescue or apprehend: locate individuals even when they are not carrying a phone. There are also some that offer questionable value: 1) Detect animals and people on train tracks 2) Track UAVs (why when there is GPS?) 3) Use 5G ISAC to count calories (don't ask) More to come from Larbi Belkhit, Malik Kamal Saadi and the ABI Research team!
Dimitris Mavrakis Can existing real-time #tracking and #RTLS technologies or #5G #positioning address any of these use cases? Why not? To assess #ISAC's commercial viability, one must consider its unique value proposition and the economic benefits it could deliver compared to current solutions. watch this space!!

5mo"3) Use 5G ISAC to count calories" now you have made me curious, need to look at it 😀
