Let's face it: Gameloft has changed! Where did the days go when we had ordinary games with no artistic flair? Because a lot of people are talking about Disney Dreamlight Valley, and okay, it's addictive and great, but... When are we going to talk about Disney SpeedStorm? Behind a slightly lame subscription and micro-transaction system (we can't completely change, you know, deconstructing flaws doesn't happen overnight ;)) is literally a lot of quality art: deviant, which won't please everyone, but... - What a talent to manage to blend so many famous characters into a single visual style that works at a minimum. - All the Disney OSTs in Dusbtep mode? In my veins, every day, every hour. - Accessibility: a hyper-simple, deceptively competitive game that's visually very satisfying. That's what video games are all about, and paradoxically, it's probably because they want to sell DLC that they do it so well. When the industry is forced to mix visual quality and gameplay with micro-transactions in the hope of selling them, it's real proof that art and creativity come BEFORE business. That business needs art, but that the opposite is not necessarily true. If even Gameloft changes... We're undoubtedly in for an interesting new era. It remains to be seen who will understand it and not jump on the train too late, or even miss it ;) (I'm Jasmine Level 38, you can't challenge me 😊)

🏝️ What's the best way to return from a two-week holiday? Watching the Disney D23 event inside of Fortnite! 🏗️ The Walt Disney Company is still building on its universe inside Fortnite, but meanwhile, they don't leave us hanging! 📣They announced many new IP integrations, from the usual Marvel skins to new Pixar skins! Dr. Doom will also receive a special spot in Battle Royal with his own POI and custom weapon/powers! I'm definitely looking forward to that one! Although the new Mandalorian integration is coming on a close second place for me. 🤩 ✏️Fortnite Creators will also be able to incorporate Disney-specific IP into their creations. Until now, we couldn't add, for example, lightsabers, blasters, and other special weapons and powers related to Disney IP to our creations. Disney will open their IP up for creators in exchange for a % of the revenue of that map. #fortnite #digitalmarketing #disney

Imagine a floor that moves you, guides you, and even lets you control objects with gestures. 😲 Disney's HoloTile, designed by Imagineer Lanny Smoot, is turning that pipe dream into a reality! The HoloTile floor is an omnidirectional, treadmill-like technology that's able to keep multiple people in place by sensing where you'll walk and guide you back into place. Despite it only being in the development phase, the applications on display were already impressive: 🏰 Imagineers walked through VR mockups of their own creations. 💃 Dancers used it to create exhilarating moves when they placed it at the base of a stage. 🪑You could place an ordinary chair on the floor to create a trackless amusement ride that could move in any direction. 🤖 Developers also previewed an interactive droid game where players control a robot and escort it through a maze. 🤝 The floor intelligently responded to the actions of multiple users simultaneously. Imagine taking a break from work and transporting to someplace serene like the Holodeck in Star Trek, or being able to move objects by extending your arm just like the Force in Star Wars. How does watching a performance where dancers move in new ways and props appear to set themselves up sound? With Disney's newest prototype, all of these fantastical dreams could become reality. What would you do with the power of #HoloTile? Laughs aside, The Walt Disney Company can use a revenue-oriented boss like Andrew Wilson. Now that we cleared it: It turns out Genie's three wishes now come with a subscription fee. Disney's new app lets you go 'To Infinity,' but 'Beyond' is $4.99 extra. Marvel's new post-credit scenes are sold as DLC at the ticket counter. You can go to a Star Wars movie, but which one will be revealed after the ticket is purchased? Do you have any ideas for more? #disney #ea #gaming #microtransactions #inapp

This week’s weekend read is a watch. As a #marketer I see a great need for #storytelling which appears to be in short supply these days. And it’s not only about “Macdonaldization” of content (hello #Netflix). The deficit of good #stories is even more prevalent in the #corporate #pr and #marketing departments. Which brings me to the #video shared in this post. Most of you who are reading this grew up with #games being almost always simple arcade entertainment. A lot has changed since then and #gaming plays huge role in your #customers lives. The recent #thewitcher TV adaptation flopped because its creators ignored the fact that almost entire audience were #gamers who experienced first class storytelling of the earlier #pcgame . The bottomline: truly successful #marketingstrategy needs a good Story - and most #Customers who you will be telling it to are Gamers.

When David Kim invited me to play a pre-alpha version of this game last year, it took me less than 10 minutes to fully understand the vision of this game design and be fully bought in to the promise. I knew right away I wanted to be part of the project. RTS has always been my favorite genre and it will always hold a core place in my heart. Going back to my first brush with Warcraft II in the college dorm, playing 4v4s with friends, to jumping into the original StarCraft as a beta tester and it kickstarting my career in the industry, to eventually becoming the PR lead on StarCraft II, my life literally wouldn't be the same without RTS. The magic I feel playing Battle Aces whisks me straight back to those carefree games of War2 in the Berkeley dorms...and the obsessive late nights grinding ladder in StarCraft. Except that this is a game that distills the peak thrills and strategic mastery of those games into manageable 5-7 minute matches -- without the frustration of diagnosing cheesy rushes or the slog of 30, 45, 60 min stalemates. As an old guy and a parent now...what the dev team have done feels almost like a magic trick - I can play a satisfying amount of this game without feeling like I'm shirking responsibility. David and the Uncapped Games development team have vastly lowered the steep barrier to entry for the genre while making zero compromises on depth, and skill mastery. Now, getting folks to see past decades-long, antiquated, and calcified perceptions of RTS and open their minds to trying the game is an altogether different challenge. But we will pull out all the stops to get there. Hope you'll join us for the ride!

AHN’s Original Series, Legends: Senh Duong, Patrick Lee and Stephen Wang founded Rotten Tomatoes in 1998, attracting 600-1000 daily visitors initially. The site, which aggregated movie reviews, survived the dotcom crash and sold for $10 million to IGN Entertainment in 2004. It remains a top review platform today.
