Taking care of your well-being is an ongoing journey. A strategic approach can help make this process more effective. From my experience coaching clients in sports and business, I have found three important principles for creating a lasting well-being routine: → Be Flexible Life changes and your plan should, too. Stay flexible to handle changes and challenges, so you can keep progressing, even during busy times. Let go of perfectionism and accept that progress is not always linear. → Focus on consistency, not intensity Regular, steady action is essential. For example, aim for a consistent routine instead of occasional intense workouts. The goal is to make physical activity part of your everyday life. → Play the long-term game Focus on long-term well-being instead of short-term goals. Picture the person you want to act like regarding health and well-being, then align your actions with that vision. Improving your well-being is a continuous process that shapes your future. The primary reasons why people told me this is because they realised they can't focus for a long time or feel overwhelmed by their use of digital devices. When you hear the phrase “𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐱” what comes to your mind❓ It doesn't have to mean a dramatic cut-off from technology; even small adjustments can make a difference to our wellbeing and those around us. Here are some simple yet effective tweaks we can make to create a better balance in our lifestyle. By incorporating these small changes, we can reduce screen time, minimise digital distractions, and create space for more meaningful offline experiences. It’s about finding a balance that works best for us and making intentional choices to support our wellbeing. The Good Stuff: Connectivity: Staying in touch with loved ones across the globe has never been easier. Video calls, social media, and instant messaging keep us connected, even when we're miles apart. Information Access: Need to learn something new? The internet is a treasure trove of knowledge. From online courses to how-to videos, learning is just a click away. Convenience: Apps for everything! From managing our finances to ordering groceries, technology makes life more convenient. The Not-So-Good Stuff: Screen Time Overload: Let's be honest, how many of us spend too much time on screens? This can lead to eye strain, sleep problems, and even mental fatigue. Social Media Pressure: While social media connects us, it can also create pressure to live up to unrealistic standards, affecting our self-esteem and mental health.
