I think you will 💯 agree😇 That comfort you're seeking through food?🍔🥙 It doesn't fill the emotional void. It's simply a coping mechanism that temporarily eases the pain of past neglect and trauma. The reality is emotional connections to food are built from childhood experiences, especially for those who faced neglectful or challenging environments. Once you delve deeper into your emotional well-being, you'll realize that your journey teaches you lessons that no amount of food can truly satisfy. So should you deny yourself the comfort of food? Of course not. Embracing your needs is magnificent.🥗🌮 But let's aim to transform that relationship—by creating healthier emotional anchors and adopting soothing rituals that don't solely revolve around food. Remember, healing comes from understanding and nurturing both your emotional and physical self. ? #EmotionalWellness #MentalHealthAwareness #HealingJourney #FoodRelationship #SelfCare #EmotionalHealing #TraumaInformed #ChildhoodExperiences #WellnessJourney #HealthyLifestyle

Is there a National Day for everything? 📆 It seems like every calendar day doubles as a celebration for something quirky or niche, from "Talk Like Yoda Day" (today) to "Be Nice to Nettles Week." While days like these can be fun and whimsical, one might wonder whether we're diluting their impact with sheer quantity. International Tea Week, on the other hand, serves to highlight the struggles and triumphs of tea farmers worldwide, illustrating the real stories behind our beloved brew. Similarly, Meditation Day ties in with Mental Health Awareness, focusing attention on the importance of inner peace for our overall wellbeing. But where should we draw the line? When does the plethora of these national days begin to overshadow the important messages they can convey? Should we be more selective in the days we choose to celebrate and promote to ensure each one maintains its significance and impact? Your thoughts are as valuable as a rare commemorative day. Share and comment below! ☕🧘♂️✨ #NationalDays #InternationalTeaWeek #MentalHealthAwareness

Let’s build a holiday season with intention, joy, and yes… a lot of self-compassion. Hello, my beautiful helpers, healers and high achievers 💜 Today’s Therapy Thursday is for those of us who may feel a bit of the holiday blues creeping in. While we often expect this time of year to be joyful, the reality is that it can bring a mix of emotions, and not all of them are merry. For many, the holidays are a time of reflection, loss, or even loneliness. These feelings are valid and deserve our compassion and care. Acknowledging these emotions isn’t “negative”—it’s real, and it’s an important part of honouring our mental well-being. Embrace your own pace this season, and remember that there is no “right” way to feel during the holidays. Find small acts of comfort that resonate with you, whether it’s journaling, connecting with close friends, or simply taking a quiet walk to centre yourself. Share one gentle practice that helps you honor your feelings during the holidays. Let’s remind each other that self-care is selfish AND 100% essential—even more so when emotions run high. Take care of yourselves, and if you need a safe space to explore and honour every part of this journey the team at Dare to Heal is here for you offering continued 1:1 support and ideas on caring for yourself, exactly as you are, schedule a free consultation today: https://lnkd.in/ggnkimCP #HolidayStress #StressAddiction #MoodDisorders #MentalHealthMatters #TherapyCanada #BurnoutAwareness #PTSDRecovery #EndTheStigma #TorontoONTherapist #RichmondHillONTherapist #Psychotherapist #MentalBeauty #MarkhamONTherapist #MentalHealthforDoctors #TorontoWellness #DareToHeal #MississaugaONTherapist #MentalHealthforLawyers #AjaxONTherapist #MentalBeauty #TherapistOfColor #OntarioBusiness #SalimaJadavji #Counselling #TherapyinCanada #VancouverBCTherapist #MentalHealthisWealth #OntarioProfessionals #SelfCareIsSelfish #HamiltonONTherapist

During #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, I want to take a moment to share a personal experience that has deeply affected me. My best friend, my piano mentor, my 'music dad' and my favourite pianist in the world passed away suddenly and unexpectedly a few days ago. The pain is indescribable having also lost my actual dad last year suddenly too. The photo is of us taking a break between doing what we loved best, down at the last UK Boogie Woogie Piano festival in Dorset. After receiving the news I needed emergency time off, and I am grateful to work at Macfarlanes where I felt supported in asking for this. I also felt comfortable with being honest in sharing the news with my team, because I'm probably not going to be that ok in the near term. Heartfelt thanks to Andrew Powell for clearing the decks for me. This is a sharp reminder of how crucial it is to work in an environment that genuinely cares about mental well-being. I’m sharing this publicly because I believe it’s important for all of us to reflect on how we can better support mental health individually, within our teams or projects, and as organisations - not just when crisis strikes. Let's ensure that we not only talk about mental health but also create the conditions that truly support it because like this week has shown me, you never know what's going to happen. Goodnight Big John Carter. #MentalHealthMatters #SupportEachOther #WalkTheWalk #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #businessanalysis #businessanalyst #mindfulbusiness

Life is very unpredictable. We have no idea what may happen next moment. If we are alive and have a family that supports us then we are blessed in many ways. There is no point in getting into unnnecessary discussions and arguments with people. Nothing matters much in life than being alive and having support of the family as it stands by us during our thick and thin. We must appreciate the fact that we are alive. Today we are there but tomorrow we might not be there. Let’s learn to live each day to the fullest. Let’s find joys in small little things. Let’s learn to live in gratitude and be thankful for everything. Let’s choose to be down to earth rather than getting egoistic. Let’s appreciate the efforts of people no matter how small or big they are and acknowledge that. Let’s be kind to others and not be self centred. Let’s be loving towards others and not develop any kind of hatred for anyone. Lets develop compassion for others and for ourselves. Let’s learn to develop the habit of forgiving and letting go. Lets choose peace over drama in life. Let’s prioritise self care, our physical and mental health. Let’s cherish the moments, make lovely memories and find joys in whatever we do. #sharingmythoughts #wednesdaymotivation #positivity #inspiration #personalgrowth #wisdomoftheday #gratitude #humility #compassion #kindness
