NAM: Study of an Adour - Pyrenees fare network   Nouvelle Aquitaine Mobilités (NAM) is a group of public transport authorities in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. SMA has been commissioned to support NAM and its members in setting up a fare network covering the French Basque Country, the southern Landes department, the Adour Valley and the Pyrenees. The aim of such a project is to unify the fares of the various public transport networks in this area (road and rail, urban and interurban), in order to make them easier to use and to erase the borders between the individual networks. The Normandy region in France is set to award the management of its four airports—Caen, Le Havre, Deauville, and Rouen—to Sealar, an airport management company created by the engineering subsidiaries of the Chambers of Commerce of Finistère and Aix-Marseille-Provence. This decision follows a call for tenders launched in July 2023. Our Secretary General, Chiara Ronchini, has been in Siena today, taking part in a conference on "Reinventing the (In)visible Cities" as part of a special ISOCARP - International Society of City and Regional Planners session on "Making the Real City Visible - World Heritage Sites Between Over-tourism and Everyday Life". Fascinating sessions explored the juxtaposition of the collective "picture-perfect" perception of cities vs the reality of everyday life, and how some of the problems which affect their authenticity and integrity are brought by the tourists who come to visit them. The aim of ISOCARP's 60th Congress is to 'explore how smart planning can create cities that work for all communities, leaving no one behind', and it gave Chiara an opportunity to describe the Great Spa Towns of Europe and its approach to preventing over-tourism, through examples of responsible tourism in the towns. So, 3 of the 14 busiest flight routes in Europe are internal flights in Norway, a country with a population of 0.7% of Europe's! What does this tell us? 1 - there's no good road connection between Oslo and Stavanger / Bergen/ Trondheim - this is true, it takes about 8 hours on each of these routes. 2 - there's no good rail connection - very definitely true, much of Norway's rail system is still single windy tracks. There's no real high speed trains in the country. 3 - the mountains in the middle get in the way, so you either have to go round them or through them if you want to improve terrestrial transport times! 4 - the government policy of district building appears to have worked but a lot of f2f meetings are still necessary 5 - Norwegians can afford to fly, a lot! In the opening presentation of the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit, Ralph Dazert, Head of Intelligence at SuperYacht Times, succinctly highlighted the increase in both the number and size of superyachts visiting the Asia-Pacific region. Despite this positive trend, the industry in the region faces a critical challenge: the current marina infrastructure is insufficient to accommodate the increasing numbers and larger sizes of these vessels. Drawing on insights from Ekrem REYHANCIOGLU the Director Asia Pacific PORALU MARINE, Cassy Wong the President of Central Yacht LTD & LLC, and Jonathan Sit the Regional General Manager of ONE15 Marina Sentosa Cove in Singapore, gathered during the summit. This article evaluates whether infrastructure development can keep pace with demand.
