Holiday Traditions are wonderful, they bring us together, the provide us with treasured memories of holidays gone bye, but they can also be a source of stress, even distress, when we take too rigid an approach to our holiday celebrations. NO FOR JOY Even in the Season of Joy The holidays are often called “the most wonderful time of the year,” but let’s be real—this season can bring a lot of pressure. Saying yes to every invitation, tradition, or expectation can leave you feeling overwhelmed instead of joyful. Here’s the truth: You don’t have to say yes to everything. You can say no to: Overspending on gifts you can’t afford. 💝 Attending every event out of obligation. 🥳 Taking on too much when your plate is already full. 🍛🧆 When you say NO to what drains you, You say YES to Peace , Joy and what truly matters. What do you need to say NO to this season? Let’s make space for a more meaningful holiday.

Fret not, You can bring joy to the world The holiday season brings a multitude of pressures. Some people get caught up in a whirlwind of activity. Others feel left out. But the holiday also gives us a chance to open our hearts to others. Each of us has the ability to communicate to someone else their special value. It isn't "things" that bring us joy. It's knowing that we have the power to bring joy to others. The truest holiday gift is caring contact with others, especially in today's culture. Use this holiday season and the beginning of the new year to communicate caring feelings to someone in your world. We have the tremendous power to create joy through a few simple behaviors: -take the time to play a game with a child, -tell a coworker how much you appreciate their efforts, -tell a family member how they added value to your life, -tell a friend how much they enrich your life, -tell someone in need they are not forgotten and give the gift of your time. The holiday season isn't to be fretted away in dashing around, wrapping gifts, and stressing out. It's a time to empower yourself to spread joy to others. So, as the new year approaches, may you allow your warmth to spread to others, and may others spread warmth to you. Happy Holidays!

We were recently asked "Why do you take WInter Holiday Break?" 🤔 At Intention Labs, we believe in the humanization of work — honoring the balance between professional commitments and personal well-being. That’s why we embrace a Winter Holiday Break, not just as time off, but as a moment to reflect, recharge, and respect the diverse traditions our team celebrates. Whether celebrating traditionally recognized holidays or enjoying a quiet pause, this break allows our staff to connect with what matters most to them. Although our Winter Holiday Break begins on 16th of December, there are numerous festive days to celebrate all month long - Here is a great list! https://loom.ly/6D15Z_w But it’s not just about rest. This time away also strengthens our operations: ✅ Fresh perspectives for a strong start in the new year. ✅ Strategic planning to fine-tune goals. ✅ Enhanced collaboration after meaningful downtime. By prioritizing this balance, we’re building a culture where everyone feels valued—not just for what they contribute, but for who they are. Cheers to rest, renewal, and readiness for the year ahead. Let’s close this year strong and begin 2025 with purpose! 🌟 #HumanWork #WinterBreak #HolidaySeason #ThrivingTogether

Holiday Icebreakers That Don’t Make You Cringe! One of my favorite holiday icebreaker moments happened during a Thanksgiving lunch at work. Instead of the typical gratitude circle, our leader surprised us with: “What’s your least favorite holiday dish?” At first, I rolled my eyes, but it ended up being one of the most fun conversations. I shared my dislike for Capirotada, a traditional Mexican dessert, which my team didn’t know about. We laughed comparing it to fruitcake—a U.S. staple many aren’t fond of either! It was a wonderful way to share cultural traditions and connect. Why Icebreakers Work: They’re not just fun—they’re an opportunity connection. The key is making them inclusive. Not everyone celebrates the same holidays, so keep your activities welcoming for all. As you celebrate this season try prompts like: 🍁 What’s a unique holiday tradition your family celebrates? 🍁 What’s your go-to holiday playlist song? 🍁 If you could invent a new holiday, what would it celebrate? 💬 Your Turn! How does your team celebrate the holidays? Share your favorite icebreaker ideas below—let’s spread some joy this season!

As we head into the holiday season, it's easy to get swept up in the vision of the perfect celebration. We imagine the ideal day: a beautifully set table, a meal that’s just right, and everyone connecting in meaningful ways. But here’s the reality: the holidays often come with unexpected surprises. And sometimes, those surprises are the best part. For example, a few years ago, my father-in-law started a Thanksgiving tradition of flying our family to DC to eat at Maggiano’s. Honestly, Italian food at a restaurant wasn’t exactly part of my vision for the holiday – I’d pictured a traditional meal at home, cooked from scratch, with all the classic dishes. It felt so far off from what I’d imagined. But it turned out to be wonderful. The adults got to relax, the kids had a blast, and no one had to clean up after dinner! What started as an unexpected shift has now become a tradition we all look forward to each year. This experience taught me an important lesson: the holidays don’t have to match the vision we create in our minds to be meaningful. When we let go of perfection and make space for the unexpected, we open ourselves up to joy in new and surprising ways. So this season, I encourage you to embrace the imperfections, the curveballs, and the surprises. Incorporate them into your story. Sometimes, the best memories come from letting go of the plan and simply being present. What’s a holiday memory that didn’t go the way you pictured but turned out to be amazing? I’d love to hear your stories! #Holidays #FamilyTraditions #LettingGo

There’s 54 days left in 2024. Here’s how you can start 2025 in better shape than you are today... while still enjoying the holidays... (me and my clients do this every single year) You’ll probably celebrate holidays with multiple sides of the family, you’ll have work parties, maybe get together with friends. So there’s usually 5-6 dinners that are ‘holiday’ meals. Plan to be ‘off-track’ on those days. And to enjoy your holiday meals, guilt-free and without much restriction. Because that still leaves 47 or 48 ‘normal’ days. Here’s what you do on those 47 days.... Go out of your way to be hyper consistent on those days. Make it a personal challenge. Don’t go out to eat if you don’t absolutely need to. Don’t have a dessert every day, save it for one of those holiday meals. Choose to workout even on the days you aren’t motivated to. Walk an extra 15 minutes every day. Make those small sacrifices on those 47 days, knowing that you’ll have whatever you want, guilt-free on those holiday dinners. If you can do this, you’ll see firsthand how you can actually make amazing progress during this time of year. I have clients do it every year, approaching it this way. But you can’t let one Thanksgiving dinner turn into a week of having pie every day. You have to maximize the 47 normal days left this year and take advantage of them. And if you want help doing that, send me a msg and I’ll see if I can help.
