It would be recalcitrant of me not to comment below and support Will Frogley. Recalcitrant! 1. : obstinately defiant of authority or restraint. 2. a. : difficult to manage. One word sums up my business growth in the sector with the highest rates of bullying, abuse, discrimination and drug and alcohol (D&A) consumption, especially Methamphetamine (ICE) consumption, RECALCITRANT. When government, training boards and unions have a dog minded attitude to line their pockets and prevent education and safety protocols from being implemented, they are RECALCITRANT! No wonder the ICE Epidemic is DIFFICULT TO MANAGE when the only money on the table supports bullies and kickbacks. Thankfully, Will Frogley and Master Builders SA has the foresight to provide a safe work environment for their apprentices and I am proud to be their preferred provider on all D&A management needs. Sadly I watch the majority of the sector do nothing and leave themselves wide open to litigation, incarceration and safety breaches daily. Why do we have to wait for someone to die before we act, or there is public outcry? In 2018 The ICE AGE Report highlighted 7% of the workforce on ICE, and nothing has changed on safety, but the figures keep rising as does the cash being wasted or ill used! D&A abuse fuels bullying, abuse, discrimination, Domestic Violence, crime, mental health and well-being issues, suicide and strain on services and society whilst destroying families the economy and the identity of a nation. I'm calling out to all governments, I have the education, you paid me to write it, please help me stop the rot before our state is destroyed and saturate the information before ICE saturates our community any further! The ICE Age Report and National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program show ICE consumption is closer to >10%. versus National Household Survey On Drug and Alcohol Abuse showing 1% on ICE. Government cannot rely on household surveys to guide policy when research screams disaster! Absolutely Ludicrous! No wonder, why absenteeism, lost productivity and Psychosocial Workcover Claims are skyrocketing. Look at my risk calculator to find out how much your business is losing.
