🌿 At Mayfair Berkeley, we believe in the power of collaboration over competition. As a private family office and asset management fund, our focus is not only on fostering growth but also on nurturing a community where learning and sharing are paramount. In today’s dynamic market, we advocate for cross-pollination—a strategy that allows us and our industry peers to learn from each other, regardless of our competitive standings. We understand that when companies work together transparently, sharing insights and resources, the entire sector thrives. This approach not only enhances our collective knowledge but also ensures a fair and transparent business environment, free from the pitfalls of undercutting and overcharging. We're here to set an example that the world would indeed be a better place if we all chose cooperation over rivalry, and transparency over deceit. Let's connect, learn, and grow together. Because at Mayfair Berkeley, we grow as a community. #Collaboration #Transparency #AssetManagement #FamilyOffice #MayfairBerkeley

We should never lose sight of the idea that most fundamental to a peaceful and prosperous society is the fulfillment of the hopes, aspirations and dreams that people have for themselves, family, friends and what they value most. Culture has always been a vital cornerstone, bringing joy, meaning and a prism of opportunity to express and engage with our inner selves and the people and ideas that surround, shape and reshape us. At The Leap, like many funding and support organisations we want to help people and places to thrive - to enable ordinary people, to have agency, to do extraordinary things that can make the biggest difference. But very often, people don't want to do big things, to scale, grow or change systems, they simply want to do things that just really matter to them in places and spaces that are.most meaningful to them. That's why I believe that small amounts of money often alongside volunteers and some well targeted help is equally as important as ideas that can generate investment and create impact at scale. At The Leap, collaborating with Calderdale Council, we are doing just that with The Leap into Culturedale Awards, to give people who may not otherwise, in areas with the least opportunity, step forward with creative ideas, and have a go at making meaning and bringing joy through arts, culture and heritage. This article on corporate shareholder activism caught my attention because of who is doing it: a group of nuns based in Kansas. The article discusses their motivations for engaging in it (to live out Catholic social teaching) and the results they have or have not achieved. It also discusses criticisms of corporate social activism. This article was posted by Kansas City Public Radio KCUR yesterday, October 26, 2024. #socialactivism #corporateactivism #corporatesocialactivism

As we mark the conclusion of Black History Month, I'm inspired to reflect on a recent discussion that Stephanie Boone-Shaw and I had with WashingtonExec, on the significance of this month and what we are doing at LMI and Booz Allen Hamilton to celebrate this month. Black History Month is not just a time to celebrate past achievements; it's a vital period for all of us, especially in the corporate world, to reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. It's an opportunity to learn from diverse backgrounds, fostering a culture of belonging that mirrors the society we live in. In today's dynamic workplace, embracing and understanding the rich tapestry of human experiences is more than a moral imperative; it's a competitive advantage. As we strive to create more equitable work environments, let's carry the spirit of Black History Month throughout the year. How are you and your organization continuing the conversation and action on inclusion beyond throughout the year? Let's learn and build together. #BlackHistoryMonth #DiversityAndInclusion #CorporateResponsibility #WorkplaceCulture #PeoplePowerPossible #LifeatLMI
#BoozAllen's Stephanie Boone-Shaw joined WashingtonExec in a discussion about how we are observing #BlackHistoryMonth. The panel discusses initiatives for February and beyond, as well as how these efforts fit into the companies’ larger #DEI mission and goals. https://lnkd.in/eN5Bvij9

Today was one of those moments that fills your heart with purpose. I had the opportunity in presenting online to a room full of incredible change makers at the First Nations Employment & Economic Development Forum. It was indeed inspiring being able to connect with so many powerful First Nations peoples and passionate allies who are ignited with that fire within, as we seek for change. I shared something close to my heart, specifically the message to see First Nations business being done right and some of the key principles vesting from the masterclass known as BaM 💥 that is the Battle Against Black Cladding masterclass. It is time, let us move forwards together as we strive passionately to protect our First Nations businesses from exploitation. To deliver community outcomes intended through principles governing First Nations business and towards a better tomorrow, given all that First Nations business is set out to achieve within the ideologies for Closing the Gap, taking place. As you might be aware, black cladding is when businesses put a First Nations face out front, but behind the scenes, they’re not the ones pulling the strings. Community outcomes are deprived from false businesses pretending to be Blak. We are done with that. This masterclass BaM is about empowerment it’s about giving our peoples the tools to stand tall, own their space, and thrive in business with integrity. It's about creating the insights, pathways and opportunities for procurement team members to see, feel and hear the solutions if First Nations business is something that's to be done right. And let me tell you, today’s presentation was an assertion of hope and indeed something powerful. This kind of education creates action. The action leads to better outcomes, true authentic engagements and better ways of impactful First Nations businesses for everyone involved. We will see the transformation. Together, we’re not just talking about change. Let's see authentic First Nations businesses thrive. It will happen. The energy, the passion, the commitment to building businesses that truly reflect the strength and culture of our peoples. That’s what this is all about. #FirstNations #AboriginalBusiness #Kinaway #supplynation #procurement #community #government #department #socialpurpose #diversity
