https://lnkd.in/geUgwr_y Ready to spark some ideas? Register for the events in Salina and Manhattan this Thursday and Frida. In our quest for creativity, we often look to the usual sources: books, art, and nature. However, some of the most groundbreaking ideas originate from the most unexpected places, sparking innovations that redefine industries and pivot personal perspectives. Consider the impact of nature on innovation. The structure of a bird’s wings inspired the creation of airplanes, while the design of a burr on a hiking trip led George de Mestral to invent Velcro. Nature, with its intricate designs and evolutionary adaptations, serves as a boundless source of creativity, influencing everything from architecture to technology. Interdisciplinary exchanges can also produce unexpected ideas. When professionals from diverse fields, such as technology, commerce and art, come together, they bring unique perspectives that can lead to groundbreaking solutions. Steve Jobs famously said that creativity is just connecting things, highlighting the power of seeing relationships between seemingly unrelated concepts. In the end, a peer group that comes together under a common goal, which cultivates an open and curious mindset might be the key to accessing the endless reservoir of ideas around you.

We don't just work externally; we delve deep within. It’s not enough to say that we always stay at the cutting edge, we are constantly evolving, tinkering, and disrupting - even within our own walls. Balancing our client projects with our desire to innovate can be tricky. Our solution was to create an internal lab - our very own innovation hub. Here, we create exciting initial models, ambitious plans, and innovative first examples. These projects showcase our abilities and help maintain our respected place in the market. Before Vision Pro was even a name, we were already showcasing its potential to our clients, thanks to our lab. Our internal lab isn’t just a part of our agency - it's the pulse, the heartbeat. That’s why merely talking about providing high-quality value isn’t enough. You have to live it, breathe it, and deliver it. To all agencies, work internally to deliver the best results for your clients.

Why? After 24 years, here’s what I’ve boiled it down to 👇 Because no team ever says, "Let’s hire some innovators" More often it’s, "We need expertise to help us get where we need to be." Our role has always been about driving progress. Our centre of gravity has remained in innovation and design, but the context and application of those skills continually evolve. The constant? Blending creativity with rigour to make progress - from design briefs to launches, business challenges to opportunity spaces, investment potential to decision frameworks… and everything in between. Progress is a human desire. We all want it. The world certainly needs it in many ways. It’s the starting point of any initiative. But identifying the "from" and "to" points is the most critical early conversation to make progress tangible. - Understand the desire - Frame how you can help - Identify the gaps - Fill those gaps with networked expertise - Be humble! The progress you make is likely just one cog in a complex machine Does this reflect your experience?

Most lasting breakthroughs aren't born from ambitious, high-stakes leaps—they’re crafted step-by-step. The myth of the "moonshot" is enticing, but the real progress is found in building bridges between theory and practice, patiently and systematically. Major projects like the Manhattan Project succeeded because of one thing: existential pressure. Outside of such extreme conditions, true innovation thrives by connecting ideas, refining them, and applying them over time. Full article in the comments.

Why are we so obsessed with envisioning the future? It must be deeply rooted in both individual and collective aspects of human nature and society. Our constant curiousity to understand what lies ahead, driven by a desire to explore the unknown. Envisioning the future satisfies this curiosity and offers a glimpse into potential realities and outcomes. In our world, the rapid pace of technological change has heightened our focus on the future. As new innovations continuously reshape our world, we are compelled to think about how these technologies will impact our lives, work and society. And we do this every day at BBH Stockholm. When aiming to create a guiding vision to generate new creative solutions and revenue streams for our clients, we conceptualise future offerings, user flows, and select technologies for implementation to take service or product to new heights. After all, the future isn't just something we anticipate—it's something we create, right? https://lnkd.in/dFrsy-27
