It's NOT over for software engineers - if anything we're on the cusp on another market 📈 These new tools - Cursor, Sonnet, V0, Replit - they're not threats. They're catalysts. Here's what will happen: 1. Non-coders will build MVPs easily. 2. More MVPs means more potential startups. 3. Successful startups need engineers to scale. 4. Result: More engineering jobs, not fewer. It's counterintuitive. But progress often is. This shift will democratize startups. Anyone with an idea will be able to test it. The best ideas will get funding. Funded ideas WILL need real engineers. The tech industry won't shrink. It'll explode. New voices. New ideas. New problems for engineers to solve. Software engineering isn't dying. It's evolving.

This is something I see time and time again that I think every founder should account for when hiring their core engineers. Every team wants the .1% engineer. Ex-Stanford/Waterloo, worked at top L1s or L2s, polished and in-demand. But then there’s another archetype. Crypto native, non-target school/self-taught, chronically online and grinding at hackathons. Accepted the fact nobody will hire them because their experience isn't there yet so they are heads down on building their own project after working day an night to secure a grant. The first is polished but already chased by everyone. The second? Hungry, relentless, with something to prove. In Web3, where innovation thrives at the edges, I’d bet on the chip-on-the-shoulder engineer every time. The positives/negatives: The .1% engineer: Brings loads of experience, proven success, and a network, but may lack the same level of scrappiness or loyalty when the eventual bigger opportunity comes knocking. The chip-on-the-shoulder engineer: Brings hunger, creativity, and a founder’s mindset, but will need mentorship or time to refine. Ultimately when building your founding team this is a decision you have to live and die by, but you need to understand the consequences of both. Which would you choose anon?

one of this week's insight of the mastermind group of entrepreneurs was to share your successes and failures permanently with your audience. So, here is one of our recent successes. And, spoiler alert: failure will be soon here as well, so do not miss it 😅 ▪ A recent case - Hire of the Head of Embedded Development in London ▪ Customer: an ML startup aimed at speeding up the embedded development ▪ Main idea: to find a skilled Embedded Developer that suddenly turned into a search for a senior engineer in London with an idea to hire one of domain leaders alumni (ARM, Qualcomm, etc.) ▪ Hiring Request: Senior Embedded Developer (RTOS) ▪ Location of hiring: we started a search within Ukraine and then switched to the UK ▪ Bottlenecks: The company creates software for embedded development and the role of Embedded Developer was more theoretical/academic. There was no device that the company developed which is quite confusing for embedded developers. Additionally, the person should be well aware of embedded development as the main task was to describe the environment, niche experience was a minus here. ▪ Result: Hired a person who is an ARM and Qualcomm alumni and was skilled enough to lead the direction of embedded development. Pretty much positive feedback from both sides and our favorite feedback from the candidate was that it was an opportunity he had been looking for many years. ▪ Insights: 1/ The market situation is extremely important. We spent months looking for needed specialists in Ukraine because the embedded development market is super hot now. Once we moved to another location the process became much faster and productive. 2/ Market trends. There are not many startups in the embedded domain (if you are not in Ukraine of course). You can use it to stand out in your offer. 3/ Do not be afraid of reaching out the profile that looks like domain superstars. If you believe in your idea with all your heart, someone else also will do. We already know that, it's another great proof. ▪ toogeza value prop: Knowing market trends to navigate the search and help you to shape the offer. No location limits, we'll hire just where you need the person.

Is Wall Street dictating the pace of tech advancement instead of the developers? The idea is that new tech is supposed to help us. For that to happen, the best course of action is to let developers/companies figure it out, work on it and bring us the best version of it (in the full knowledge that the best version will always be changing due to other advances). But more and more the developers/companies are answerable to the Street and the analysts who tell investors whether a stock is a buy, hold or sell. If the analysts don't like an investment decision, you can expect to see that stock's price fall. The best of breed will always have to answer to the Street and make investment decisions and give information that might not be in the best interests of the end product and it's development. I can't be the only one that sees a problem with this?

My company HEX was launched in August and we now have over 20 employees working with us. This is what running a fast-growing software development company looks like to many people: - Expanding the team with 30 talented developers. - Launching 2 new products under a year. - Achieving a 200% increase in revenue. - Onboarding 15 new clients. But remember, it also looks like: - Regularly updating security protocols. - Debugging and optimizing legacy code. - Implementing feedback loops from user testing. - Managing project timelines and scope effectively. - Maintaining documentation for better onboarding. - Navigating unexpected challenges with adaptability. - Mentoring junior developers through weekly check-ins. - Conducting regular code reviews for quality assurance. - Cultivating a positive team culture to prevent burnout. - Balancing client expectations with technical feasibility. Don't just celebrate founders wins, celebrate their efforts and resilience. We launched in August but we've been putting in effort way before then. Nothing is impossible if you believe and you put in the work. What's the most underrated thing about what you do? #businessowners #founders #techstartups #innovation #ai

Everything is "high priority" in Q4 🔥 This period is a recurring stress test for startup tech leadership. Missed deadlines can throw next year’s entire roadmap into chaos. A fintech CTO we work with had to deal with something similar recently. Their app launch was weeks away, but delays had piled up. We linked them with three senior React and Python engineers within a few days. They stepped in, pushed features, and got the launch back on track before the deadline. On-demand tech talent is a strategic tool in such scenarios, and having access to a reliable global network of pre-vetted, top-tier product engineers can make all the difference. If you had an extra pair of expert hands today, what Q4 headache would you be able to solve?
