The Final Formation is an event organized by the Florida Army National Guard for soldiers nearing their Expiration Term of Service (ETS). This event offers a platform for reenlistment with exceptional benefits. Eligible soldiers could receive bonuses, although it’s important to note that these bonuses are specific to certain Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). Please consult your Readiness NCO to see if you qualify. Additionally, the event provides opportunities to explore new units and MOSs. It’s important to understand that attending the Final Formation does not guarantee these opportunities, but it is highly encouraged to attend. Attending can help you seek out any potential opportunities that could allow you to continue serving the great state of Florida. Furthermore, it’s possible to address these incentives directly at your unit before attending the Final Formation. Proudly supporting those who serve, Runnymede Borough Council is pleased to confirm it has secured the gold award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme! The national scheme, run by the UK Ministry of Defence is aimed at fostering greater relations between military and civilian communities. The Council has taken a number of actions to demonstrate its backing for defence and the military, including serving personnel, their families, reservists, cadets and others supporting the military establishment. These include: ▶ Creating forces-friendly human resources policies to support staff who are reserves or Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers, including providing extra annual leave. ▶Hosting a reserves recruitment event to encourage employees to consider joining the reserve armed forces. ▶Including criteria around support for armed forces and employing service leavers in the Runnymede Business Awards’ Employer of the Year award. ▶Updating the Housing Allocations Policy which waivers the three-year connection to the borough for any serving forces person, bereaved/divorced spouse and seriously injured. Two things I’ve learned since leaving the military: 1. Majority of employers do not care about your military experience. 2. No one is going to help you transition. The Skillbridge program is the only resource of value when transitioning from the military. If you aren’t looking into this already start now. DoD-SkillBridge
